Wikimedia UK
[edit]- ... that Wikimedia UK was initially denied charitable status by the British government on the basis that providing free access to information on its own was not a charitable purpose?
- Comment: Article made from redirect and still being expanded. "British government" refers to the non-ministerial department that reviewed its application and "initially" refers to the fact that it did later get charitable status. Expansion was right at the end of the 20th and since the 21st has already been expanded by five times.

- Several references are lacking (FN6 seems to have mixed the URL and work parameter, FN8 doesn't have a URL. Otherwise quite impressive. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 20:12, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- The sixth citation actually goes to the intended site so that isn't inherently an issue, just a minor wiki markup conflict. I had forgotten to fix the other one, though, but now it is resolved.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 21:06, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Don't think it was essential to DYK, but I fixed the wiki markup issue as well.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 21:10, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- New enough, long enough, interesting cited hook, referencing is fine, checked two sources and did not find any plagiarism. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:58, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
