Hi! The {{U|Amalthea (bot)}} is malfunctioning when the title of the page contains a "=" sign. Bot updated the SPI list ([https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Cases/Overview&diff=742312211&oldid=742310057 diff]), but the case displays as a red link titled "endorsed" on the list. I tried to fix it manually ([https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Cases/Overview&diff=prev&oldid=742373878 diff]), but the bot immediately reverted me ([https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Cases/Overview&diff=742312211&oldid=742310057 diff]). Possible bot problem
I think there may be a slight problem with User:Amalthea (bot). With this edit, the bot removed Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/HankMoodyTZ from the list of open SPI cases, despite the fact that the case is still open and still has a pending CU request. Could you look into this please? Thanks in advance. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:27, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
- The SPI page was moved around in the time between those two bot edits; apparently this confused the Mediawiki categorization logic: You'll not that the page claims to be categorized in Category:Open SPI cases, but if you actually go to the category page you won't find it there.
This might resolve itself if it's just sitting in the job queue waiting to be processed. If you want to fix it manually then do a WP:null edit on the SPI page, which will make Mediawiki to update the categories.

Orphaned non-free image File:Seal of ASEAN.svg
Thanks for uploading File:Seal of ASEAN.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:24, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
- Note to self: Will likely need restoration once commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.svg and commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Seal of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.svg are closed. Amalthea 09:52, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Discussion on Phabricator about Popups
You are invited to join the discussion at T137613 regarding whether to create a Phabricator project for the Popups gadget. (As a maintainer of the gadget, legoktm thought you'd be interested.) Thanks! Enterprisey (talk!) (formerly APerson) 21:08, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I haven't done any work on popups in quite a while, so I don't think I can help you out there. Amalthea 07:07, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
"Not helpful" are some pretty strong words. Perhaps you could teach me what you mean by "deployed onsite" rather than dismissing me for trying to fix a problem the only way I know how. Thanks. – voidxor 19:03, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- When user:This, that and the other fixed the typos you reported, he removed the task from the to-do list and mentioned that they "will appear on-wiki soon", referring to the fact that Twinkle is developed on Github and the scripts will need to be copied to Wikipedia for them to have effect. Since TTatO isn't an admin and can't change the gadget pages himself he needs someone else to do it. I did that yesterday, right after the undo.
Re-adding the task to the to-do list was not helpful since it misrepresented the problem. Next time just post at WT:TW, please.

API change will break your bot
It looks like Amalthea Bot was using http:// to access the API last week, rather than https:// This is going to break soon, because of changes to the API. You can find more information in this e-mail message. If you need help updating your code to use https:// , then you might be able to find some help at w:en:Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard, on the mailing list, or at phab:T136674. Good luck, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:23, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
- Oh alright, thanks for the notice. The one tool that was not using https has now been switched over.

Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Amalthea. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:47, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
