I would appreciate a full and fair review of this block.--[[User:NadirAli|NadirAli نادر علی]] ([[User talk:NadirAli#top|talk]]) 23:23, 12 December 2016 (UTC)|decline=Perhaps we should have made it clearer; your uploading ban should have explicitly banned inserting images you have uploaded to Commons onto Wikipedia. A less charitable interpretation would be that you found a loophole and took advantage of it. I'll unblock you if you accept a ban on linking to Commons images you've uploaded or modified, and commit to broadly interpreting this ban (as opposed to hunting for another loophole.) Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:19, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, NadirAli. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Science of Star Wars listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Science of Star Wars. Since you had some involvement with the Science of Star Wars redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 21:21, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reblocked for violation of image-upload topic ban

Stop icon

In February of 2016 you were unblocked by User:Coffee with the condition that you were banned from uploading further images due to persistent issues with this. In November of 2016, you uploaded a new image that you created and and added that image to several articles. (These images, in addition to violating your topic ban, also appear to constitute original research). Unless you can provide evidence that these actions are not in violation of your unblocking conditions, you are reblocked for an indefinite period. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

User:Ohnoitsjamie has been repeatedly removing a chart that I created, arguing that it's original research without providing any explanation of this alleged original research. When I reverted him asking him to point out the alleged OR, the user then proceeded to block me indefinitely, now alleging the chart was a violation of my topic ban on uploading images.

Firstly, administrators should not be blocking users they are in disagreement with over content. Secondly, the image was a file I uploaded onto commons. To be precise, it's an updated version of the chart that was already on the English Wikipedia prior to the upload ban. I was banned from uploading images onto the English Wikipedia last February.

In full compliance with my ban, I have NOT uploaded a single file onto the English Wikipedia since then. I did recently upload two images (both free use files) onto commons. I am not banned and was never previously banned from uploading onto commons. I simply replaced the older image already on the English Wikipedia with a link to the updated commons file. And as mentioned the older version of the file was already on the English Wikipedia prior to the upload ban in February.

If the blocking administrator feels I violated any restrictions on the English Wikipedia, he should have posted his concerns on the appropriate noticeboard for third party responses; especially because he has blocked a user that he is in direct conflict with over content.

The blocking administrator also previously made no known attempt to contact the user he is in disagreement with regarding his concerns over the chart which was there for months (it was recently replaced by the updated commons file a few times) prior to his sudden removal of it without explanation.

I would appreciate a full and fair review of this block.--NadirAli نادر علی (talk) 23:23, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
