I am pretty confident that AA was planning on launching mainline before WN announced service and I do not think WN was the direct cause. Hey, have you heard anything about concourse A growth after the new gates open? I just saw the WCPO article and it sounds like the airport is definitely running out of room. With Delta refusing to allow other carriers in concourse B, and southwest presumably announcing an expansion in February (4 gates is excessive for 8 daily flights), it seems like the airport is stuck. Are there plans to use 1 jetway for multiple planes, and start something like A4A and A4B? Do they have any other quick fixes? Long term, the airport definitely needs to work quickly on building the west wing of the concourse-assuming they want the airport to continue growing! Southwest

@74.128.101.150: Hello, I get all these rumours from Aviation Forums. Many of these rumours come from employs of airlines, but of course, it is hard to figure out their reliability. For instance, the DL changes were recently rummored and seem plausible, but we will never know unless they become true. As far as Southwest, for a long time, the word has been that WN was not intrested in looking at CVG, however this changed earlier this year when WN cut all DAY flights except MDW. The rumour has been that the flight would then be switched to CVG, however this has yet to happen. I think there is a high probability that WN begins operations at CVG within the next 1-3 years, though WN has fleet restrictions at the moment, and adding CVG would necessitate cutting flights from another city, which is too large of a gamble for WN at the moment in case DL matches fares. When WN aquires additional aircraft over the next few years it is very possible CVG will be the next add, as the largest market both not served by WN and not served by a mid-range low cost carrier. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! @2602:30A:C039:3180:6158:A580:2C1D:A016: Can you give me a specific route(s) that this is occuring. I would think they should be listed as Air Canada Rouge, as all "Air Canada Rouge" flights are technically Air Canada operated by Air Canada Rouge. I do not know a ton about Air Canada, but that is what I would try. I will be on the look-out for how this issue is handled by other users. Let me know if anyone says anything or you try anything! Looks like 1 flight on Tuesdays starting in May-it may be other days of the week as well. Their website is a pain so I haven't spent much time looking. Google flights doesn't seem to show this flight on Rogue though-AC 7344. Typically I have seen Air Canada Rogue listed seperately from Air Canada/Air Canada Express, but I'm still not convinced this is a Rogue flight. @Jtaylor7309: Just checking some surrounding cities, it looks like PIT will have this as well. On google flights its listed as "Operated by AC Express Airgeorgian", vs the typical "Operated by Air Canada Express Air Georgian". However, the flight number #7344 is an Air Canada Express Number, not a Rouge one, so I think we should continue to list the route as just Air Canada Express. If this changes, and a flight number in the 1000's appears, then I think you could separate the two operators. I find it very unlikely that Rouge would be operating flights to CVG given they normally fly to vacation destinations in the south and Caribbean. Let me know if you agree! Thanks! Regarding the "Delta hub" table at CVG article

Hello, you had said that there was consensus to keep the table here at the CVG Airport article. Could you please give me a link to that consensus? @Sunnya343: It's actually in the CVG talk page, there was a discussion about former destionations on WP:Airports under Archive 14 about wether to add them. We tried having them on CVG as a test run and I think most agreed that this was too detailed and many routes were not notable, the list was subsequently removed and moved to the talk page. Then some editors decided "small" airports could have them, see discussion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Airports/Archive_15#Former_Destinations), but these routes were not notable and were subsequently removed. Most of these discussions focused on the length, unverifiability, and unimportance. I then had a discussion with Tofuwitch11 on CVG's talk page, editing back and forth, trying to display the extent of the hub cuts at CVG. This list has gone through various stages, but with little participation except myself and a few other editors. The list, as it says on the page, is specifically the cuts Delta made as a result of the Comair Pilot Strike, Bankruptcy in 2005, and Merger with Northwest. It is not at all a list of former destionations as you said in your edit, its really the only way to show how dramatically Delta downsized CVG. For the average reader not knoweledgable in aviation, daily departures, hub rankings, ect do not mean a whole lot and does not differentiate the conditions of CVG from other dehubbed airports such as MEM, CLE, BNA, ect that never reached the same size or importance, wheras the list shows the fligths cut in a way you cannot find anywhere else. In addition, in response to the main complaints about listing former destionations, every route can be found on the sources provided. Eventually, I would like to replace the table with a map, as seen in the discussion, for mobile devices, as the list appears very long. So, its not really a defined consensus, but rather a refusal of other aviation editors to discuss the topic. As long as people are not willing to talk through these issues and come up with a solutions to convey what may be the most important information about CVG, I will continue to refine and edit how this information is presented. I think there are numerous other ways about showing this information such as: a map, combining mainline/connection service, ect. I have always favored the table, but I welcome any suggestions you may have for displaying this important information in other ways, as I think its clear you are against having the table.
