Navraj Singh Goraya (born November 3, 1989), better known by his stage name Nav (stylized as NAV), is a Canadian-Punjabi hip hop recording artist and record producer from Rexdale, Ontario, Canada.[1] He is signed to XO and Republic Records.[2][3]

Career

In September 2015, Nav released one of his earliest songs to his SoundCloud account, called "Take Me Simple". Nav first rose to fame when he received a co-sign from American reality television personality Kylie Jenner posted a video of her lip-syncing to his song, "Myself" on her Snapchat account. On January 16, 2016, "Take Me Simple" and "The Man" was featured on Drake's OVO Sound Radio on Beats 1. In 2016, Nav collaborated with an American rapper Travis Scott, while Nav produced and features on Scott's song, called "Beibs in the Trap" (taken from Scott's second album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight). The song was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with no radio support.[4] The song peaked at number 90 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[5] In February 2017, Nav released his eponymous debut commercial mixtape, preceded by the lead single, "Some Way" featuring The Weeknd.[6]
