:Of the two current sources in the article itself, only one explicitly states he was born in Hebden Bridge. The other one, The Hebden Bridge Times, only states that he was raised there. Furthermore, as the comment above and I previously mentioned, there is a video of Ed explicitly correcting an interviewer who says he was born in Hebden Bridge. How this is not counted as reputable when it's filmed coming from the subject's own mouth is beyond me. I have updated the article using the source provided above. This is the paper from the town he was supposedly born in stating he was born in Halifax.<span style="color:#FBB117">Yellowman94</span>Talk•Contribs 15:15, 16 March 2017 (UTC) |

I have changed his birthplace to Halifax. The reference is a Youtube video of an interview with Sheeran, where he explicitly states that he was born in Halifax and then moved to Hebden Bridge later. The reference is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGjYB8DGzdI, a radio interview between Sheeran and Chris Moyles. Stronach (talk) 11:32, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
add to 2016–present: Hiatus and ÷
Should it be added here that he performed "Shapes of You" and "Castle on the Hill" on Saturday Night Live February 11 2017, and "Shapes of You" at the Grammy Awards on February 12 2017? - Melodies1917 (talk) 17:11, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax, not Hebden Bridge.
Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax, not Hebden Bridge.
Here he is, saying so. Out of his own mouth. You can see him do it:

3:55 onwards.
Newspapers have been repeating the incorrect assertion that he was born in Hebden Bridge. Just because it's in a reputable newspaper doesn't make it a reliable source.
Here's the Hebden Bridge Times getting it right:
