Question Hi, I am new to editing Wikipedia pages. I noticed you undid my edits on the Ulige Numre page. Can you explain why? I'm not complaining, just trying to understand what I did wrong and whether it is possible to correct, as I posted the information in good faith.

Editing the wiki page 'Vazhuvoor B. Ramaiyah Pillai'

Hello,

This message is regarding the editing of the wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vazhuvoor_B._Ramaiyah_Pillai

I'm the eldest grandson of late Vazhuvoor B. Ramaiyah Pillai and the eldest son of late Vazhuvoor R. samraj. I came across the information posted in this wiki page about Vazhuvoor B. Ramaiyah Pillai. In an effort to add more information about the third generation of the Vazhuvoor parampara, I added some details to this wiki page last week. However the information has been deleted along with some other important facts about my grandfather. I request you to revert back to the version which I had edited last week.

Here is a link to the article posted on Sept 18th 2014, by 'The Hindu' - a popular Indian newspaper, which talks about my contribution to this art. If you need any further clarifications, please contact me at vazhuvoorars@ymail.com

Thanks and Regards, Vazhuvoor S. Palaniappan

Hi Vazhuvoorspalaniappan and thank-you for your comments. The edits were removed as it was completely unsourced, which is a violation of WP:V. What you have done also violates one of they key pillars of Wikipedia WP:5P2, and I quote, ' All articles must strive for verifiable accuracy, citing reliable, authoritative sources, especially when the topic is controversial or is on living persons. Editors' personal experiences, interpretations, or opinions do not belong.'. You are more than welcome to make further edits, as long as they are properly referenced. If you are having trouble with references, may I suggest WP:REFB. May I also remind you that repeated violations of Wikipedia policy may lead to an account being blocked from editing per WP:WHYBLOCK. Thank-you David.moreno72 12:30, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Greeetings sir. David, can you please assist me in my mistakes made during editing my post, because i don't understand beyond my doing. Any change made by yourself if possible, i humbly surpport it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Giftmashimbye (talkcontribs) 18:00, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Giftmashimbye. May I suggest that you read WP:PREVIEW, so that you can see if your edits are constructive or not. Thank-you. David.moreno72 13:12, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted why?

Hi, Can you explain this revert please? Thanks! Dldnh (talk) 12:42, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dldnh. At first glance it appeared to be unconstructive, but after carefully reviewing the edit, my reversion appears to be in error. Please accept my apologies. Considering I make several thousand edits a month, even if I have a 99.9% accuracy, there will always be a few errors. Thank-you. David.moreno72 13:08, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reversion of my edit

Hi David, Thanks for your attention to my edit in the List of Countries by Human Development Index. "Palestine", rather than "Palestinian Territories", is correct here, because that is a faithful reflection of the information posted to the UNDP website at which HDI data is originated. See http://hdr.undp.org/en/countries/profiles/PSE. (In general "Palestinian Territories" is a misnomer anyway because the term "territory" applies to land that is subject to a country's jurisdiction, and the only possible country this could apply to, Israel, has not claimed the West Bank as its territory). As a general matter, I'd also suggest that you provide the courtesy of justifying reverting an edit in the comments section - I notice other people have pointed out that you have done this in other cases. Regards, Hurunui

Hi Hurunui99. I have double checked your edit and yes, you are correct. Please accept my apologies. In regards to justifying an edit in the comments section, I use an automated tool, Huggle, where the default is to revert without an edit summary. It does have options for adding a comment, but they are preset, and rather restrictive, so if none apply, then I just use the default. Generally this is sufficient. Thank-you David.moreno72 13:04, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feldenkrais Method

Please accept my recent edits to the Feldenkrais Method page. As it stands, the article leads and closes with blatantly biased and incorrect statements, these need to be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.195.99.79 (talk) 09:19, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 49.195.99.79. That may be your opinion, but the sections that you removed were well sourced by reliable and reputable citations. If you wish to supply an alternate viewpoint, of which you are entitled to, they too must be well sourced by reliable and reputable citations. I would also suggest that in future that per WP:RVREASONS, that you discuss the issue on the talk page before removing well referenced material. Thank-you. Peach Leaf Curl

Good morning David, I see you have reverted my transfer of information from the Leaf curl article to the Begomovirus article. Two favours I ask of you: please look closely at my changes specifically with regards to whitefly control, and you will see that my changes make biological sense. Please re-instate my version, thanks. Secondly, can you then please re-name the Leaf curl article as "Peach Leaf Curl"? Much appreciated. 86.170.122.151 (talk) 10:05, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 86.170.122.151. I'm sorry, but the page is about Leaf curl, which is an overarching subject, which describes the various causes of leaf curl, including Peach Leaf Curl. You are more than welcome to expand upon the section of Peach Leaf Curl, or even add the various other causes, of which there are many. Thanks. David.moreno72 12:35, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. In that case please make me a peach leaf curl article stub (which I will fill with content today), and leave the leaf curl article as is (and I will place Begomovirus content into it, which is at present nearly completely missing). I will then modify both articles, new and old, and ask you to review it later today. Bear in mind that the article cannot stay as is, with 99 percent peach leaf curl and then out of the blue, a whitefly control program. 86.170.122.151 (talk) 12:57, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 86.170.122.151. I would recommend that you first create the article as a draft and submit it to Articles for creation. That way it will be reviewed and commented on, and you will have a chance to make it perfect before promotion to mainspace. I also encourage you, since you seem to be an expert on the subject, to expand the leaf curl article. Thank-you and happy editing. David.moreno72 13:36, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks David for the Articles for creation link, which I did not know about. I have read it, and come to the sad conclusion that it is not worth my while submitting an article for review to disinterested reviewers given that no-one has cared about the whitefly mixup in the past few years, and that even you do not wish to take ownership of the problem. Just do one thing for me please: google "peach leaf curl" and tell me how far down your list of google results the Leaf curl article shows up. Google results normally show wiki articles at first or second position, but this one trails at eighth place on my Google results. Not good enough in my view. 86.170.122.151 (talk) 15:18, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
How about this solution: 1. You rename the current Leaf curl article as "Peach leaf curl". 2. You set up a Disambiguation page "Leaf curl" which links to Begomovirus, to Peach leaf curl and to the various leafroll diseases for potato, grapevine etc. 3. I will then make minor edits to all these pages to ensure consistency. If you feel unsure about this, please recommend me a competent administrator. 86.170.122.151 (talk) 17:50, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Institute of Management Rohtak Revert

Hi 120.56.246.234. The links you added was a violation of the external links policy, per WP:ELNO, and I quote '10. My article has been removed

Hi David, The major contents of the article I just created has been removed. The link is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_for_Partnership_Initiatives_in_the_Niger_Delta_(PIND). It is an article of an organisation and what I did was to simply copy the content from the website into the article. I want the same information on the website in the article. Please advise further.

Hi Dinovate. Copying content from a copyrighted source is strictly prohibited per WP:CV. Thank-you David.moreno72 12:02, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Message

The Music Education Centre Page
Hi, :) I left two brief talk page messages to contest the deletion of The Music Education Centre. Someone appears to have deleted them as they can not be found and I thought this would be the best way of reaching you.

The page appears to have been Speedy Deleted, I can not find any logs. I would like to contest the deletion as the article had plenty of notable independent citations, including a Study about the Music Education Centre, newspaper articles and peer reviews. I believe that any contributors or admins from outside New Zealand, do not understand that the level of notability for this organisation provider is relevant.

For example, the University that published a study about the Music Education Centre, for example is a world respected University and the (publication is listed under New Zealand's national library), there were other citations to independent Associations that are also world respected in Music.

The School Principals and Schools that were cited to have reviewed this page topic of are also notable in the education field (although there are no Wikipedia pages to them).

I honestly think that the final page was acceptable, if there needed to be additional edits they were minor, this is not my first page that I have helped set up or contributed to. I came across several Wikipedia pages, that were of similar notablity that had missing links, citations and the references were mostly internal. So it seems to me that something is not right.

I think that there is a genuine cultural issue here between countries, with a lack of understanding for how the New Zealand education system and its peers in New Zealand and Internationally.

I cut down the final article to a shorter length so the most important neutral information could be seen more clearly. Since it is Auckland's largest education provider of its type, with approx 1,500 enrolments weekly, I am surprised that these final edits did not stick.

Since there is no conflict of interest - for example I do not work at The Music Education Centre I can not see a reason for deletion. I doubt that the final edits were actually read and or understood.

I look forward to your reply. ContentWriter (talk) 23:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ContentWriter. I carefully reviewed the page before tagging it. This involved not only reading the page, but also the references (the ones that could be fully accessed). The first problem was that the language used wasn't neutral, but promotional. Other editors, including myself thought so. Some tried to help you by reverting them, but were quickly reinstated. This is an issue per WP:OWN. The second, and most importantly, there was no evidence of notability per WP:GNG. That is, there was very little significant, independent coverage by reliable, unaffiliated sources. But that was not only my opinion, as the CSD nominator, but also obviously the opinion of the administrator, Seraphimblade who would have also carefully reviewed the article and eventually deleted it. If you wish to recreate the article, I would highly recommend that you read this, create a draft and then submit it to Articles for creation (where I am also a reviewer). By going through the AFC process you will not only have plenty of time to perfect the article, but also receive constructive comments when you submit it for review. Thank-you David.moreno72 06:53, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nain Rouge Entry clarification

I prefaced my entry with this disclaimer "In January, 2017, a new perspective and interpretation was introduced about the Nain Rouge" Is this not good enough to continue the premise that the Nain is still mythological but people currently believe in him? Your clarification is appreciated. Dave Kriegasaur (talk) 01:59, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kriegasaur aka Dave Krieger. The promotion of your book on Wikipedia is not permitted per WP:COI and WP:PROMO. End of conversation. Thank-you David.moreno72 09:26, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits on Lycamobile Wikipedia page

Hello David, this is in reference to my last message to you. Would be great if you can revert and advise us on next steps on how we can include our new service launch on Wikipedia. Would appreciate a prompt revert. Many thanks’.Sacrlette (talk) 08:17, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sacrlette. It sounds like you have an undisclosed conflict of interest, so editing the page is strong discouraged. I have taken the liberty of adding the details myself, using neutral wording. Your welcome. David.moreno72 09:17, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cut & paste move

Hello, David. I see that you attempted to revert a move by a block-evading editor of Shrirampur railway station to Serampore railway station by cutting the content from one article and pasting it into the other. I agree entirely with reverting the page move, but cutting and pasting the content is not the way to do it, as it loses the editing history, which must be kept to comply with Wikipedia's copyright licensing terms. Normally, you should move a page by using the "move page" link at the top of the page. Sometimes that is not possible, as intervening edits to the target page prevent the move, but in that case you should paste {{db-move|1=PAGE TO BE MOVED HERE|2=REASON FOR MOVE}} at the top of the page to be deleted to make way for the move, which requests that an administrator make the move. On this occasion I have made the move, so you don't have to do anything, but I am letting you know for future reference. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 16:19, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks JamesBWatson for your help with this matter. I have normally been collaborating with Bgwhite, as he is also familiar with the user, but he hasn't edited for about a month. This particular user has been a problem for some time now, specializing in copyright violations and unnecessary page moves. Edits are usually easy to deal with as they can easily be reverted, but page moves are a but more difficult to deal with as I don't have page mover rights. In relation to the Shrirampur railway station, I had previously supplied a reliable reference, which also includes photographs of the station, showing unequivocally that it is called Shrirampur, as our friend had previously incorrectly moved it. Unfortunately, this was not enough for our incompetent friend, who has already burnt through a series of user accounts. While I have your attention, I would like to respectfully request page mover rights , as I often see incorrect page titles during new page patrolling and incorrect page moves during my other reviewing activities, and having the right would certainly help resolve these issues. Thank-you David.moreno72 09:06, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jhay.ulilang. Your article is currently unsubmitted, so there is nothing you need to do. If the article has not been edited for 6 months it is liable for deletion per WP:G13. Thank-you. David.moreno72 07:52, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Young Earth Creationism reversion

I noticed that you reverted the changes I made to the YEC page about linguists knowing the origin of languages or having opinions. I believe that my edit was justified because the text that was there before my edit and after your reversion is inconsistent with the page on the origin of languages, to which there is a link in the same sentence. The origin of languages page clearly states that the topic is still hotly debated and sometimes even disconsidered as a field of science due to lack of evidence. Thus it is unreasonable to overly criticize YEC by saying it contradicts what is known about the origin of language when there is no consensus about what is known or even believed about this origin of languages. Thus my edit that changed the word 'known' to 'widely believed' was still overly generous to those opposing YEC as nothing is quite widely believed. 97.102.178.138 (talk) 11:10, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The gist is: whatever is believed thereupon, it is asserted scientifically, it isn't predicated upon God confusing the languages of men because they wanted to build a skyscraper. Tgeorgescu (talk) 17:54, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
