Reception

The film opened to positive reviews. Film critic Veeyen lauded the movie and stated that "Basil Joseph’s tweaking of the sport movie recipe in ‘Godha’ works wonders and lifts it up straight on to a prized zone occupied by some of its triumphant predecessors. Strikingly directed and deftly written, ‘Godha’ steps up the rules of the game and wins the combat in a superb take-down."[9] Sree Prasad Nair of http://www.inuth.com writes "While most of the 2017 Malayalam debut awards will be a cakewalk for Wamiqa, this writer strongly feels that she can be a strong contender for the 2017’s best Malayalam actress nomination, of course along with Take Off’s Parvathy. Be it with her wrestling scenes or her charming expressions with ever beautiful brown eyes, Wamiqa wows the hearts of the Malayalam audience with an amazing screen presence. The actress was flawless in her emotional scenes especially when she delivered an emotional dialogue ‘No family wants a Sakshi Malik in their family until she wins an Olympic medal’. Kudos to the makers for casting her and special mention to the writers for that heart warming lines." Many film critics and actors have well understood and praised the story and well execution of the director. The comic moments of the actors were highly amusing and were well received by the audience. The acting quality of Renji Panicker and Wamiqa Gabbi was the star shots of the movie.
