Guk-bbong (Korean: 국뽕, meaning a feel drunk with nationalism) is a new internet phrase of Korea that was popularized in the 2015s. It is a compound word of nations and philopons, meaning "Korean is the best of all the countries". As a result of extreme nationalism, it becomes negative for other people's.[1] It is a phenomenon that we consider our nation to be the best. As a result, it make a mockery of Koreans who praise Korea unconditionally.[2] With 'Guk-bbong' syndrome, the word 'Guk-kka ' was born against the word 'Guk–bbong'. It is a compound word of nations and actions talking behind nation's back. It is a phenomenon that slander maliciously korea.[3]
Concept
The word "Guk-bbong" was first used in field of "Korean history". In "the Internet history gallery" of "DC inside" korean community, there were those who glorified Korean history without any grounds. "the Korean race founded, before 'Dangun', the Sumerian Kingdom of Mesopotamia, the world's four largest civilizations." or
"Even the Ming emperor Zhu Yuanzhang was afraid of the military power of Joseon."
These called "Guk-bbong". [4]
Some pointed out that the series of "Do you know?" has spread like a fashion. For example, "Do you know Psy?", "Do you know kimchi?", "Do you know Yuna Kim?". And here is also a saying that the word 'Guk-bbong' was born in an attempt to watch that excessive behavior for the pride of nation.[5]
In addition, the word ' guck-a-song ' began to appear - ‘ Ddong-song-hap-ni-da’. ‘ddong-song-hap-ni-da’ means “I am sorry that I am Asian.” It reflects a sense of self-destructiveness among some young people who believe Westerners are more likely to be born than Asians.[6]
Effects
Social effects
These effects show an act of emphasizing and encouraging unconditional patriotism. On the contrary, there is a tendency to criticize and discredit the patriotic elements. Therefore, this phenomenon shows that Korea's sports player has declined and depreciates and depreciates their performances, compared to other countries even though the performance of Korean sports players has been outstanding.[7] In fact, Park Geun-hye, former president's speech was also criticism that 'drunk with patriotism speech gukppong' Independence Day in 2016.[8] The Japanese media reported that the Japanese media are calling for a warning and increasing the number of intellectuals and media that urge young people to act on the younger generation.[9] Sociologists say this is not a pride of pride, but an exaggeration to say that it is an exaggeration to conceal the sense of inferiority and anxiety.[10] Director Ryu-Seung-wan by <군함도>, related ‘Guk-bbong’say “I wanted to be judged only by the movie, but I couldn't do it with Korean sentiment.” In the movie, it is possible that the two sides are simultaneously engaged in "Guk-bbong", pro-Japanese, and two issues. "[11]
Cultural influences
A film based on history can not avoid controversy over the Guk-bbong and distortion of national.[12] Became "Stalled war galley" with the "Hell-Chosun gallery" in "DC inside", the "Guk-bbong gallery" was opened on September 4, 2015, following the establishment of a "gallery of Hell-chosun".[13] Guk-bbong Content is consumed entirely in the form of people enjoying culture.[14] Modern and contemporary history is shunned by the younger generation as Guk-bbong deprives nationalism and patriotism.[15] Additionally, the South Korean history instructor, such as Seol Min-seok and Choi Jin-ki, is criticized for being criticized in broadcasting and education circles, under the criticism of the Guk-bbong missionaries.[16]
Criticism
Some criticize that excessive nationalism is causing excessive national attention[17] that is the enlargement of korean culture patriotism crying out "Aunt, Please give me a plate of skate!"[18] speaking with a broad accent in front of the camera. Also in the golden age of history, Some point out that the desire for great ancient history is blatant without distinct of conservatism and progressivism, ruling party and opposition party. Because the reality surrounding us is so hot, everyone is going to leave the country in history.[19] Junggi Song said, "Actually, I don't think the meaning of the word Guk-bbong is accurately established. Many people were confused with the words of appealing to pity. Don't blindly follow what is unrighteous, but I don't know why they shouldn't love South Korea. I think it could be connected to that. If I get the right criticism, I'll be able to talk, but I'm not afraid if I have right thinking." [20]
Besides, There is sorriness because Park's government exerted political pressure on the cultural and artistic circles for gate of choi.[21]
