Flags on the main page

It's interesting, to me, that many articles get flagged as needing revision, but nothing seems to happen for a lot of them. This article was flagged in January 2015, which was 20 months ago as of today. (I suppose that's one of the drawbacks of Wikipedia being so popular, and having lots and lots of articles.) The warnings that some articles have, like "this article may be deleted if it's not brought up to snuff" seem like an empty threat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.130.204.49 (talk) 15:45, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
