Dr. H.B.M Iqbal was born on 12 April 1950 in Banshgari, [[Bhairab Upazila]], [[Kishoreganj District]], [[Bangladesh]]. Iqbal faced criticism for firing his gun at a rally of then opposition party, Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He was charged but the case was dropped in 2009. His 16 year old nephew crashed his car in [[Gulshan Thana|Gulshan]], Dhaka in 2016. He was under the influence of alcohol, four people were injured in the accident.
