Possibly unfree Image:Class334 3-car juniper.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Class334 3-car juniper.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. Please go to its page for more information if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Vclaw 15:47, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The situation has been resolved positively, with the picture of the Class 334 Juniper (which is in use all over Wikipedia and which would be missed gravley) being kept on Wikipedia. This message is posted for all those interested.

Welcome to VandalProof!

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Anthony cfc! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Anthony cfc, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

don't you have better things to do than vandalism? [1] Buenaparte Social Club 14:57, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, what are you talking about? --Anthonycfc Talk to Me (sandbox) (E-Count)
just check your edit (the link i've posted) and compare it with my previous version. your summary states "remove double ]]" but you only removed my recent edit: a phrase i had to rewrote as it has disappeared. Don't know if it was voluntary or not. anyway i've fixed it. Buenaparte Social Club 15:02, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, it was unintentional and I apologise to anybody who tried to read this article and yet were impaired by me edit.
Secondly, just have a glance over all the anti-vandalism projects I am involved in; WP:RCP, WP:GNOME, etc.. Do you really think I mean Wikipedia harm? Just to let you know, you will never get anywhere in Wikipedia branding other users vandals. Maybe you should have a think before you write down comments like that in future.
--Anthonycfc Talk to Me (sandbox) (E-Count)

hey take it easy man, i dunno you. i just had to correct a vandalism-like edit just before that's why i tought it was vandalism again. Buenaparte Social Club 15:17, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No hard feelings intended.

That's exactly what i was about to reply ;) Buenaparte Social Club 15:17, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VandalSniper

Thanks for applying to use VandalSniper! You have been approved. If have not already done so, you may find instructions to install VS on the project page.

As some of the libraries VandalSniper runs on are currently in transition, there have been a few issues reported with setup. At the moment, Linux is the most compatible platform for VS. If you have questions or problems, you may find help on the project page or its talk page. Please also feel free to contact me for help and I will do my best to assist you.

Thanks for becoming a part of one of Wikipedia's best new software tools! -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 16:44, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your sig is long.

Have you considered using the 5 tilde date stamp (~~~~~) sequence instead of that mess of individual date templates? I believe that would shrink your sig by almost an entire line in the edit box. --tjstrf 04:48, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I have considered it and no I don't think I will be doing that anytime soon. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Signature

How can I create a sig to make it be: Teh tennisman, then superscript small green font 'speak your piece' for my talk page? i notice ppl with them, and i'd like mine like that Teh tennisman 20:01, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there; if you're looking how to get the colour etc.. then you might want to take a look at the code I use for my own signature; the code is located on my sandbox (see my userpage for a link). Basically, to get the sig you're looking for it would be something along the lines of "Teh tennisman<font color="#008000"><span style="font-size: 1">  speak your piece</span></font>" which becomes >Teh tennisman  speak your piece.
Hope I've helped, and don't forget to view my Sandbox were the code for my signature is to get a more detailed code! Cheers

Greetings, stealer of talkpage headers :P (j/k)

I took the liberty of linking the images on your userpage to their respective pages, which imho is nicer than just the text links. Feel free to revert, and thank you for your MedCom support :) —Xyrael / 20:07, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You may wish to note that your boxes are stretched lengthways a little, so it's up to you if you're happy to make this compromise. Hope I've been helpful. —Xyrael / 20:14, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Firstly, you're welcome (for your Meditation Committee nomination support); secondly, thanks for the images link fix - yeah it is nicer. And lastly, what do you mean by "stretched lenthways" - what does that mean!

Once again cheers for the advice. Again good luck for Med.Committee nominations.

Heh, no problem. Take a look at the screen before and after; you should see that the box is a slightly different size. At least, it is in my browser.

Hey yeah I see what you mean, its just that I couldn't see the change for looking! :-/ PS: Cheers so much for the changes to the images on my UserPage; I was just running a comparison to the previous editions and noticed HOW MUCH code you'd changed. Your new Wikipediaholic Score

First of all, how did your score climb SO QUICKLY? How is it even possible to score that high if you're not Jimbo Wales? By the way, you made some errors in the ranking, like labelling 2nd as 2st, 3rd as 3nd, and 4th as 4rd. I have fixed them. AstroHurricane001 22:11, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the AMA!

Hello Anthony cfc, I see that you have decided to join the AMA. I'll be the first to say welcome! We're always in need of more advocates, especially since were backloged most of the time. Just a few pointers for what we do. We communicate by putting a template on our talk page. The template is AMA alerts (which you already have). The AMA also has it's own IRC channel which reports new cases to us, and also new alerts. If you'd like to jump right into a case, you can check out WP:AMARQ, which is our new request for advocacy system. The instructions for how the technical part works is on the talk page. You can also use the AMA userboxes that appear under here. If you have anymore questions about the organization, just ping any advocates talk page, including our coordinator, Steve. Again, welcome to the AMA! -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk) 05:27, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for offering to take this case. I was just seeking advice on a content dispute, I have not generally been engaged in such before and don't want to step over any lines unintentionally. The case is undergoing mediation now and the mediator thus far has been quite helpful.

I would like to ask a few questions privately, and will email them to you. Seraphimblade 09:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ocd.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ocd.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Durin 13:34, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thanks again for the reminder. Don't mean to be a nag, but you did tell me this previously and I do add subst prefixes to my date template. However it may be I left it out. Would you mind giving me a reference? Thanks. Anthony.
Your signature currently looks like this:

You need to change it to this:
<font color="#000080">Anthon</font><font color="#000080"><font color="#008000">y</font><font color="#000080"><font color="#000080">cfc</font> <font color="#000080">(<font color="#000080">talk</font> • <font color="#000080">email</font>) <small>, (UTC)</small>
This needs to replace the code currently in your preferences. jd || talk || 14:48, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.
Signed...
Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

*disappointed at self*

I. Am. So. Stupid. I was just dusting out my old pages and I opened that one, and voila, there was a request. That I of course missed because I haven't checked that page in a while. Terribly sorry. Anyway, is there any chance you'd still like one? Because I'd be more than happy to make one. And I can do that similar style or another, different one; completely up to yourself. Cheers and sorry, Master of Puppets The Walrus! 04:38, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Sorry for the un-speedy reply, I've got exams on. I thought you'd forgotten about me! Yeah that would be great if you could make me a picture...I had in mind something vaguely like User:Celestianpower's username banner would be great. Thanks a lot!

RfA Standards

Hey, I'm glad you liked my "standards". I thought the normal ones were completely out of whack with reality, so I hope mine would be a little more realistic. :) Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 01:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers! See you around. Anthony.

Re: My talk

  • I ended up reverting over multiple edits, since there was still vandalism embedded into the latest version (ie: something about Aliens). So, I rolled back to the last known good copy, and then manually looked for legitimate edits and found that it should indeed be "square" knot as opposed to "reef" knot. Thanks! --Porqin 18:51, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:334025 at Dalmuir.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:334025 at Dalmuir.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hi, you said my talk page was getting rather lengthly and I should archive it. Would it be ok for me just to delete the really old stuff and just keep the latest discussions ? Thanks. mjgm84 19:22, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Well the choice is really up to you; I prefer archives as they allow me to bring back having a look here
As I said the choice is yours; you may wish to archive for the purposes of reference or if someone wants to revive a discussion - or you may wish to simply delete finished conversations. May I remind you:
(i) It is considered uncivil to delete a reasonable post without reply
(ii)It may be to your disadvantage if you have deleted a post which later becomes involved in a dispute.
(iii)I am willing to archive for you, so it's no effort on your part!
I hope I have been of help, and just give me a yell if there is anything else you need to know.
Cheers and Regards

User:Anthony cfc/signature

Hi Anthony, I wanted to give you a heads up that it doesn't appear your template is working properly. Specifically, the date and time after your signature always changes to the current time. I noticed this on a warning message that you left at User talk:204.38.104.10. It probably just needs to be subst'ed. Regards, Accurizer 14:32, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templates shouldn't be used in signatures anyway. If you're going to use a page in your user space as a signature, at least substitute it. I can fix the signature so that the time and date doesn't change, but you need to substitute it before it will work. You need to change your signature from to . JDtalk 14:39, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

creating page

i would like to create a page or stub as the case may be for a transit company in canada and so far everytime i have tried it gets deleted claiming that i am advertising or spamming or the company is not notable... most places have stubs for things like this even your rapid transit and bus company list requests us to build that stuff up t he one i was trying to create for is Timmins Transit if you can help me it would be greatly appreciated (Yonzie1972 23:20, 20 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Regarding Timmins Transit; I am a Public Transport enthusiast and I have never come across Timmins Transit. However, having said that it may be notable enough to consitute a Wikipedia article. The criteria for notability over companies is located at a subpage of WP:NOTABILITY (a guideline for notable of Wikipedia Articles). The subpage is Wikipedia:Notability/Companies and Corporations;

"...A product or service is notable if it meets any of the following criteria:(1)The product or service has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the company itself. (2)This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, television documentaries, and published reports by consumer watchdog organizationsTemplate:Fn except for the following: (A) Media re-prints of press releases, other publications where the company or corporation talks about its products or services, and advertising for the product or service. Newspaper stories that do not credit a reporter or a news service and simply present company news in an uncritical or positive way may be treated as press releases unless there is evidence to the contrary.(B) Works carrying merely trivial coverage, such as simple price listings in product catalogues. (2)The product or service is so well-known that its trademark has suffered from genericization..." —Wikipedia:Notability/Companies and Corporations

Heya! I was just browsing through C:CSD, when I found that both your userpage and one of its subpages was a candidate for speedy deletion. I checked it out, and noticed that the problem arose from your link to the category from this page -- instead of linking to the category, you'd accidentally placed that page in it. Hope you don't mind me making the change. :) Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 00:02, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
