Club career

Early career

Born in Kaduna, in 2013, Sadiq joined the "Future of Africa" football academy and the Abuja Football College. He finished as the top scorer at the Croatian Kvarnerska Rivijera youth tournament as his side Abuja Football College won the competition.[2]

Spezia and loans

Also in 2013, soon after the Kvarnerska Rivijera youth tournament, Sadiq signed for Serie B side Spezia who sent him on loan to Serie D club Lavagnese. At Lavagnese he netted 26 goals in 24 matches for the youth team becoming the youth top scorer in Italy.[2]

Roma loan

In June 2015, Sadiq joined Roma on a season-long loan. Having bagged eight goals and three assists in his first four youth matches for Roma, he made his Serie A debut on 21 November 2015 against Bologna, replacing Juan Iturbe after 88 minutes in a 2–2 away draw[2][3] before scoring his first senior goal in the 3–3 draw against Chievo on 6 January 2016.[4] Towards the end of the season his move to Roma was made permanent for a fee of £2 million.[5] He completed his first season at Roma scoring 2 goals in 6 Serie A appearances.[6]

Roma

Bologna loan

On 31 August 2016, Sadiq joined Bologna on a season-long loan deal.[7]

Torino loan

In August 2017, Sadiq joined Torino on a season-long loan. Torino secured an option to sign him permanently.[8][9]

Rangers loan

On 10 July 2018, Sadiq joined Scottish Premiership side Rangers on a season-long loan.[10] After just four first team appearances in all competitions, his loan spell was cancelled in December 2018.[11]

Perugia loan

On 9 January 2019, Sadiq joined on loan to Serie B club Perugia until 30 June 2019.[12]

International career

On 25 July 2016, Sadiq was selected by Nigeria for their final 18-man squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

He scored the Nigeria Olympic team's first goal at Rio and also won a penalty for the team's fourth goal. He also scored the first and only goal of the next match against Sweden.[13] He then scored the first and third goals in the Bronze medal match against Honduras in the same tournament.
