::::{{ping|Stepho-wrs}} If I have to choose, I prefer the merging of different names of the same cars because the names can differ by region. If they're separated, it may cause a confusion among the newcomers and also make this template more ineffective in conveying the information to many people. I just made quite a few changes to it and cleaned it up. Are we aiming at this being more of a "Toyota North America" template or should it be a "Toyota Motor Company" template? (similar to Template:Mitsubishi Motors vehicles) ren0talk 07:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think making an international template would be best since there are plenty of articles about Toyotas that were never available in the US. The Mitsubishi template looks like a good model. ~ Dusk Knight 23:38, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
in line with this I have added several major entries, using the List of Toyota vehicles as a source. Enigma3542002 01:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is very easy for this template to get out of date compared to List of Toyota vehicles (to which I am currently adding many older production models and older concept cars). Should I periodically update this template to match List of Toyota vehicles? Better yet, is there a way for this template to be automatically generated similar to Category:Toyota_vehicles ~ Stepho-wrs 09:07, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

header image

I spaced it that you can't use fair use images in templates. I'll take a photo of the front of my Celica later during the day and upload it so we have something in place as a header image. Similar to Template:Mitsubishi Motors vehicles. ren0talk 07:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sprinter Trueno / Corolla Levin

I realize the AE86 was the most well known generation, but there were other vehicles with the Sprinter Trueno and Corolla Levin names (TE27, AE101, etc.). If I'm not mistaken, they have always been part of the Corolla line, so wouldn't it be better (or at least more accurate) to link to the Corolla article? ~ Dusk Knight 04:40, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move the Previa and Estima from "Current models" to "Discontinued models" as the cars have been both discontinued since October 2019. 36.78.95.112 (talk) 15:56, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Move the Toyota Granvia link to the current model "Vans" section, as the nameplate has been resurrected in Taiwan, Australia and many others. [1][2] 43.251.97.98 (talk) 10:07, 9 January 2020 (UTC)  Done, definitely seems to be in use again. ~ mazca talk 23:54, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Add Toyota Wildlander in "Current cars" section. 182.30.205.236 (talk) 04:46, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Wildlander is a variant of the RAV4 for the Chinese market.
How do we handle multiple names for the same vehicle? Do we list all name variants and make the list longer? Or list each vehicle just once and have people not find their local name?  Stepho  talk  07:10, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Stepho-wrs: There are separated Highlander and Kluger examples in the template. That might just do the job. 182.30.205.236 (talk) 08:00, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
