::This is to let you know that I am adding Arlen's Name to the Music section in the Info Tab. I've read through the discussion on the Template: Info Box Film Talk Page it's clear to me that his name is warranted. The key comments are are 1) "The consistent theme of comments, both pro and against, is that credit should be provided where practical without overwhelming the infobox template", 2) " there is a rough consensus to judiciously credit additional composers" and 3) "For musical films, however, the songwriter is the predominant composer of music with the score composer, when there is one, somewhat secondary and supporting to that. Both should be listed." Arlen is, without question, the predominant composer of music for the Wizard of Oz. If you have a problem with any of this, please let me know, if not, I'll make the change tomorrow. Regards. Trouble Brewing

Crboyer, there's trouble brewing. Those vandal users are vandalizing Wikipedia. Did you leave all those messages on their talk pages? Bobbyjennings (talk) 05:16, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Which vandals to be specific? Crboyer (talk) 05:22, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's User:2601:2C0:8600:49C0:882A:8C92:86A5:FB3A. He's been vandalizing Spider-Man 2 and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film). Please block this user permanently. Bobbyjennings (talk) 05:26, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As I am not an administrator, I am unable to block others, only warn and report. If I was an administrator, I can't block IP addresses like this one permanently. User's last edit was a few hours ago. If they resume, I will start the warn cycle. Crboyer (talk) 05:29, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, you can only warn and report all the users, and not block IP addresses. That is going to be the start of the warn cycle. Bobbyjennings (talk) 05:35, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi just to let you know the person you warned is a serial block evader so no warnings are really needed, just report them to AIV. See this page for more information. Sakura CarteletTalk 03:19, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware of who I'm dealing with. Crboyer (talk) 03:21, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh? I thought you might've not have known so I told you about him. Well as long as everyone's on the same page, I guess it's okay then. Sakura CarteletTalk 03:24, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And Crboyer, you might could assume that I didn't mean to revert just the block notice. Drmies (talk) 00:39, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Deleting the block notice, but leaving Speed's latest tirade seemed odd. Thanks for clarifying. In any event, I've also reverted Speed's one-millionth threat. And I'm working on tagging their latest IPs as socks. I hope I'm doing something right. Crboyer (talk) 00:42, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year!
Hello Crboyer:
Thanks for all of your contributions to improve the encyclopedia for Wikipedia's readers, and have a happy and enjoyable New Year! Cheers, Donner60 (talk) 00:03, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Send New Year cheer by adding {{subst:Happy New Year fireworks (static)}} to user talk pages with a friendly message.

Thank you for reverting that edit on Brandon Lee's page.

Thank you for reverting that edit on Brandon Lee's page. I am simply appalled that someone on New Year's would do such a mean spirited edit. Filmman3000 (talk) 23:38, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So what happened on the Fox page exactly?--Duroq145 (talk) 16:02, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Wizard of Oz

You've just reverted an edit of mine on the film of the WIzard of Oz. Given that Arlen wrote all the musc for the songs, providing the material that Stothart used for his underscore, I'd be grateful if you could explain why you believe Harold Arlen should not be credited, at least in part, for writing the music for the Film. Thanks.David T Tokyo (talk) 20:11, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Template:infobox film. Under music, is this: "Insert the name(s) of the composer(s) of the original music score. They are usually credited with "Music by". Composers credited for "additional music" and songwriters should not be included. […]." Arlen counts as a songwriter.Crboyer (talk) 20:43, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks - appreciated. I struggled to understand why songwriters should not be included but recognising that many modern films have huge numbers of songs, the vast majority of which were never written for the film, I can see an opportunity for complete chaos in the Infobox and I wouldn't mind betting that's what ultimately led to the current definition. However, this is clearly an occasion where Wiki's definition results in a wrong answer. Stothart was not the sole author of the music for the WIzard of Oz - Arlens' name is listed as a co-author on all Stotharts' scores for the piece. Obviously so, given that so much of the source material was Arlen's.
I've checked a few other examples within Wiki. Richard Rodgers is correctly credited as the composer for the Rodgers / Hammerstein musicals - despite the fact that the underscores were all written by Bennett, Rittman etc. The same can be said for many other composers from that period. Under this definition some of the most famous songwriters Broadway has ever seen would simply not be credited for having written the music - a ridiculous state of affairs. Wiki's entry for A Hard Days Night is interesting - The Beatles are given an entry there, alongside George Martin.
I don't know the best way forward with this. The issue really lies with Wiki's definition. I'd be grateful if you could point me to the best way as to how to deal with that, although I'm not sure I've got the stomach for a long protracted discussion. Let's see. Thanks again.
