Who is behind the assassination?

I do not want to contribute too much to "speculation" per se; however had, this is somewhat similar to an execution occurring in Austria some years ago (in 2009). See wikipedia here:

+I have no insight into the Khangoshvili situation, but I wanted to mention the above on the talk page in the
+event someone can connect qualified information; personally I am absolutely sure about the claims made
+against Ramzan Kadyrov. It would be interesting to see whether Kaydrov is somehow connected to the death
+of Khangoshvili. (I am just about absolutely certain that Kadyrow was involved in the murder of Israilov;
