User:Mevlut Bin Omar recreated an article about a translator that was very similar to an article created by globally blocked User:Alex bonson 90; see similar edits here and here (same list of low-quality sources, poorly formatted in the same fashion). OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:48, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

- You ready? CU confirmed to each other: Omer Bayraktaar (talk · contribs), Omar albayrak (talk · contribs), Motzad (talk · contribs), Rotzad (talk · contribs), Mevlut Bin Omar (talk · contribs), Bahadir EminOğlu (talk · contribs), and Turki bin Faisal (talk · contribs). Now, here's the fun part: Alex bonson90 (talk · contribs) and Necati Omar (talk · contribs) are confirmed to each other, but not to your dude. Geolocation doesn't exclude their identity, but technically I can't make that call--you'll have to do that by connecting behavior, including that of Necati. And anyway, Necati is also globally blocked, so maybe it's of relatively little use. I'm also pinging LadyofShalott to express my regrets; she, in her typical fashion, was caring and helpful. Drmies (talk) 22:06, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- I see that Turki bin Faisal (talk · contribs) is globally locked (after trying to promote the same translator), so I think that's enough for a block here. Thank you! OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:13, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- From the range: Ertuğrul bin Suleyman Shah (talk · contribs), Tamim Bin Hamad (talk · contribs), Khaledpaola (talk · contribs), Emin Bayraktaar (talk · contribs), Ahmad Tantawi (talk · contribs), مريم الطراونة (talk · contribs), Omar Suwaidan (talk · contribs). I'm going to drop a block there. No, I am going to ask Berean Hunter, who has dropped a bunch of blocks on that range and said technical words--BH, is there anything more you'd put on top of my little bitty soft block? Drmies (talk) 22:17, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- User:Ohnoitsjamie, the problem here is going to be what to call this. I just placed a bunch of CU blocks, pointing to this SPI. But who the real sockmaster is, I am not clear, and a whole bunch of these are already globally blocked, so someone knows more about this than I do. And Alex and Omar(s) may be different. Moreover, Materialscientist (who apparently does not get notifications?}} has blocked a couple of them with a CU block (which I "overrode" for the purpose of tagging), but they didn't leave any indication of a master. So the clerk may have their work cut out for them here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drmies (talk • contribs) 22:54, August 5, 2020 (UTC)
- Drmies, that block is fine. If they keep persisting with more socks then you could hard block it. It is already heavy enough with socking so you could do that. There is someone socking at tr.wiki who looks to be the sockmaster. I've asked someone to look at this in both places in case there is something that we are missing. (I think your ping missed Ohnoitsjamie, so re-pinging him).
— Berean Hunter (talk) 23:13, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- I was wondering the same thing, who to tag as the master (or, who is Sock Zero?) Likely either the same person or group of people behind all of them. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:50, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- Berean Hunter, Ohnoitsjamie, I think I found it, thanks to a draft, Draft:Ali AL-Suleiman, that Deb deleted. The relevant SPI is Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/علي أبو عمر--I knew a little bell was ringing when I found that username in Arabic when I ran CU. User:GSS, you just filed a report there for User:Mevlut Bin Omar. TonyBallioni and ST47 are the most recent CUs who were on that case; it would be a good idea if either one of them would have a look at this one, maybe re-run CU and compare to their own data--which might also answer the question about Alex and Necati. Drmies (talk) 02:23, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, Drmies, if there’s the possibility of cross-wiki socking in Arabic projects, you should probably talk to علاء (Ala’a). I’ll also ping him off-wiki about this case. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:32, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

- Thanks TonyBallioni . Hello Drmies, confirmed that Alex bonson90 is sock for علي أبو عمر (Sockmaster) technically and behaviorally (example), also all above accounts confirmed with same master. Until now there's 160 confirmed sock, especially that he is using VPNs. Best --Alaa :)..! 11:41, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
