Hi Giuseppe, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your interest in contributing. I saw your question at the Reference Desk and wanted to let you know that the best place to ask for help is actually Wikipedia:Teahouse. The people there are experienced with how to help. There may be quite a few steps to go through to do with conflict-of-interest rules and rules about promoting companies - rules like these are probably the reason why a tag was put on your draft. Ask the Teahouse anything you need to know about this and they will be able to help. 70.67.193.176 (talk) 17:13, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2020

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Wikipedia talk:Teahouse, appears to have been inappropriate, and has been reverted. Please feel free to use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. At the top of that talk page it says: "This page is where editors discuss how to keep the Teahouse running smoothly. If you have a question about how Wikipedia works or need help with editing, please click here to go to the Teahouse Q&A forum." David Biddulph (talk) 13:47, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you David Biddulph (talk), please could you indicate a wiki page where I can ask some feedback for my trial sandbox ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Giuseppe_Ardolino/sandbox)? I would like to receive some improvements (if there are) before the publication. Thank you Giuseppe Ardolino (talk) 16:24, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I think I see - Giuseppe, I know it looks confusing, but the "Talk" tab at the top of a page is actually a behind-the-scenes tab. Sorry about that. It seems logical that you would use it, but unfortunately that's why people keep saying you are not in the right place.
Let me begin again: To ask your question at the Teahouse, first click on Wikipedia:Teahouse, then click on the big blue button in the middle of the page that says "Ask a question". That should get you where you need to be! 70.67.193.176 (talk) 19:20, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 70.67.193.176 (talk) thanks for your support, I really appreciated. I followed your guide and I published my question and sandbox to review in Teahouse area. I hope now it's ok. Thank you [User:Giuseppe Ardolino|Giuseppe Ardolino]] (talk) 09:58, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 70.67.193.176 (talk), sorry for disturb. I have just a question. I followed your advice and I wrote in Testhouse Area, but today I noticed that my topic has been cancelled, you know why? I have some updates and I wanted to continued the discussion of my topics. Is it necessary to open another topic? Thank you for your collaboration and support Giuseppe Ardolino (talk) 09:24, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Editing with a conflict of interest

Hello Giuseppe Ardolino, thank you for disclosing your conflict of interest on your userpage. But please avoid editing any affected mainspace articles or lists, and use edit requests and draftspace to suggest sourced changes. A list entry may seem relatively minor, but it is still an addition that increases visibility for a given entry. Such additions should only be done by uninvolved editors (and only when a properly sourced and reviewed mainspace article exists). GermanJoe (talk) 14:56, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GermanJoe , thank you for your message. Please can you show me what is the section "use edit requests" Thank you for your collaboration }} Giuseppe Ardolino (talk) 15:08, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See Template:Request edit and Template:Request edit/Instructions, Giuseppe Ardolino. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 15:19, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you DES. I added a Request edit into a new section of this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_column-oriented_DBMSes, in accordance with suggested guidelines. I hope it's all ok and that I have a response soon. Thank you again }} Giuseppe Ardolino (talk) 09:15, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You missed that GermanJoe said that an item should be added to such a list only when a properly sourced and reviewed mainspace article exists. In short the article must come first. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 16:21, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi DES, I added 3 articles as a source, aren't they correct? Thank you }} Giuseppe Ardolino (talk) 09:56, 25September 2020 (UTC)
You need to undserstand that an itemm is not added to a list such as List_of_column-oriented_DBMSes until after an article about that product, not a draft but an approved article, already exists. As for I added 3 articles as a source I am not sure what additions you refer to. I still do not see in User:Giuseppe Ardolino/sandbox any citations to independent sources with significant coverage much less three such sources. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 19:49, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi DES, concerning my sources I mentioned these ones to support Sadas Engine as column-oriented DBMS:
Maybe I inserted this article in the wrong way? or The problem is related to the accuracy of the articles? Thank you so much for collaboration }} Giuseppe Ardolino (talk) 07:31, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You aren't paying attention.
  1. No new entry will be accepted in the list until there is first an article about the DBMS.
  2. The draft will not be accepted as an article until there are multiple independent] reliable sources that include significant coverage of the subject. The above sources do not qualify. Most are not independent. Others do not include significant coverage.
  3. The problem is not accuracy, it is the lack of independence of the sources. Nothing affiliated with Sadus is independent, even it it is external. No client of Sadus is independent.
I hope that is clear. Don't bother asking again if those same sources are good enough. They are not and won't be. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 13:10, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
