Executive Airports

A jet-capable airport focused on jet-based business, private and corporate aviation. Typically classified as Reliever Airport. As relievers, these airports have sufficient runway width, length, and pavement strength to support landings by jet aircraft, as a fallback for emergency situations when one or more runways at a major airport are compromised. The amenities and facilities provided by Fixed-Base Operators (FBO) are nicer than most General Aviation airports, with more services, such as rental car availability. Executive airports are often owned by the same agency/authority as the the long primary commercial service airport. While illegal to deny access, non-airliner aircraft are discouraged from using the primary airport through a combination of high landing fees and the lack of aviation gas.
