How to Join this Voting

Hello, I learnt that there is a Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees elections going on. Please how can I join..?? And what's it all about..Coz I learnt that there are rewards attached to it at the end of the voting exercise. I need help. Emmy Rey (talk) 20:56, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your own Talk page is not a place to ask general questions, as the only reason editors go there is to leave you a message. David notMD (talk) 21:05, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

David notMD sorry. I was ignorant of that.

But no one has ever sent me a message here.!! Emmy Rey (talk) 21:14, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Editors send other editors comments in regards to article they have edited. As you are a relatively new editor with very few article edits, no one has had reason to leave you a message. (Talk pages are not for chat.) In answer to your election question, according to Wikimedia Foundation elections/2021/Voting, the voting is ongoing, you are not eligible to vote (requires having made 300 edits before August), and there are no rewards. David notMD (talk) 21:18, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK thanks.

And so, where can I chat? Since talk page is not for chatting David notMD Emmy Rey (talk) 21:40, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not for chat. People who persist in trying to use if for that purpose can be blocked (temporarily or indefinitely) for trying to use Wikipedia for banned functions. Same applies for trying to use User page for social media or website-like content. See WP:NOTHERE. David notMD (talk) 22:41, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Putting double-brackets around a person's user name does not send them a message. I use double curley brackets with a u| before the User name. Like so Emmy Rey. David notMD (talk) 22:43, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

David notMD Thanks alot Sir, really appreciate. Emmy Rey (talk) 22:48, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
