Image copyright problem with Image:IPed Screenshot.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:IPed Screenshot.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:24, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
One more thing for Navbox...
[edit]Hi Tigey,
I just need one more thing to try to figure out your navbox problem. What I want you to do is to go to Special:ExpandTemplates on your wiki (hopefully it exists), and paste in this:
{{Navbox |name = Test |title = Title |above = Above |group1 = Group1 |list1 = List1 |group2 = Group2 |list2 = List2 |below = Below }} {{Navbox |name = Test |title = Title |image = Image |above = Above |group1 = Group1 |list1 = List1 |group2 = Group2 |list2 = List2 |below = Below }}
Then you can paste the results from the Special:ExpandTemplates form back onto my talk page (inside some <pre>...</pre> tags) so I can see what's going on. If Special:ExpandTemplates doesn't exist on your wiki, then you can save the code I listed above to a sandbox page on your wiki and send me the HTML source code of the page (Ctrl+U on Firefox). --CapitalR (talk) 20:11, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
More Navbox stuff....
[edit]Ok, so something is definitely weird with the way your wiki is executing the Navbox code, and I still can't figure out exactly what the problem is. It seems to be either related to #switch statements not being executed properly, or the MediaWiki engine on your wiki automatically closing tables to prevent nested tables. There's a few more options could could try:
First, try out this code and see if it works. By setting navbar=plain, the dependency on {{tnavbar}} is removed. That will at least tell us if that's the problem:
{{Navbox |name = Test |navbar = plain |title = Title |above = Above |group1 = Group1 |list1 = List1 |group2 = Group2 |list2 = List2 |below = Below }} {{Navbox |name = Test |navbar = plain |title = Title |image = Image |above = Above |group1 = Group1 |list1 = List1 |group2 = Group2 |list2 = List2 |below = Below }}
Next, copy the code from my sandbox: User:CapitalR/Navbox into your wiki's Navbox code and try that. It seems that some other problems are arising in the #switch statements (which could be due to it not having the most recent updates for the ParserFunctions extension). My sandbox version removes the switch statements so we can see if that's the problem.
If that doesn't work, then I'm going to have to conclude that it's due to your wiki not having the most recent MediaWiki engine updates, or having some other settings the prevent nested tables, in which case you'd have to talk to someone there about upgrading it in order to fix the Navbox problem.
Let's hope one of the two solutions above works for you! Let me know what happens; I'll keep looking around to see if I can find any other solution. --CapitalR (talk) 21:18, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:RemoteView Logo.PNG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:RemoteView Logo.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:16, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

RemoteView
[edit]Hey, I added that tag because to me it seemed to be bordering on language that is advertisement like. Case in point, under the modules section it says, "ideal for anyone who is focusing on a single image at a time or is reviewing the results of another analyst's work.[2] RemoteView Professional is the flagship product offering a greater number of tools and capabilities.[3]"
So, I guess that that is the sort of thing I'm talking about. It just needs to be more NPOV.--Woland (talk) 20:54, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- Ahh, OK. Gotcha. I will edit it a little bit, cause now that I look at it again, I can see it that way too. Thanks. Tigey Talk E-Mail 20:59, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
www.golemtemplates.com
[edit]I see you have been uploading a gazillion of flags with source www.golemtemplates.com. Now, why do you set GFDL license? Nothing in the zip, nor the empty website specifies a license. Platonides (talk) 21:52, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
- Around April timeframe this year, author originally released them for free use with an explanation on the site. Lately there has been no content on the site except the zip file. I will admit, I am assuming that he is still releasing them as such. I checked back a number of times since then, but there was never a retraction, and no-one responds to webmaster@golemtemplates.com... Tigey Talk E-Mail 22:09, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Invitation to New Orleans developers' meeting
[edit]New Orleans Wikimedia Hackathon | ||
---|---|---|
Hi, Tigey. I'd like to invite you to come to the New Orleans Hackathon 2011. It's an opportunity for MediaWiki developers and Wikimedia operations engineers to come together to work on advancing Wikimedia's tools and infrastructure, focusing on Wikimedia Labs (starting with the dev-ops virtualization cluster), and to train and to squash bugs.
The theme of this event: "the infrastructure of innovation". We're going to improve and discuss the Wikimedia Labs projects infrastructure and other stuff that makes it easier for anyone to supercharge Wikimedia with awesomeness. We're going to work on our gadgets/extensions/tools support, authorization/authentication strategy, dev-ops virtualization, and general training and hacking. It's mostly going to be dev sprints and bugsmashing, with some discussion and workshops. The event is open to anyone who wants to come and contribute, and is an opportunity to spend time with senior MediaWiki developers & ops engineers, write beautiful code, and learn about the latest developments. If you can make it to New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, 14-16 October 2011, we'd love to have you. Please add your name to the attendees list. Thanks! File:IPed Screenshot2.png missing description details
[edit]is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.
If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
