The Peoples Progressive Party, Nepal (Nepali: जनता प्रगतिशील पार्टी, नेपाल), is the seventh largest political party in Nepal.[1][2] The party was officially announced and on 26 August 2021.[3][4] Hridayesh Tripathi is expected to be the president of the new party.[5] The party is expected to get registered in December before the National Assembly elections.[6][7]

History

As of August 2021, the party members had filled their candidacy as an Independent political group.[8] They had election symbol Sun, as a part of agreement between CPN (UML) and this group.[9] Brijesh Kumar Gupta And Hridayesh Tripathi won as member of House of Representative. Similarly, Ajay Shahi and Dharma Lal Shrivastava won as candidate in Provincial Assembly election to Provincial Assembly of Lumbini Province.[10] However Ishwar Dayal Mishra and Pashupati Dayal Mishra couldn't manage to win the election.[11]

The party is expected to get registered within a week while the process has already started.[12]
