Ray was an amazing man

I knew him. Sorry if this isn't a place for this, but his music was avant garde, and so amazing. My mother Ellie Roberts, née Vandermeuse, used to sing for Christmas Eve at St. Agnes by the Lake, and we got to know Ray and Glennie. Mom was the soprano for the debut performance of Gifts II, and I got to see the production and prep work. Some of his music was specifically written to her capabilities.

His funeral was a simple, but beautiful affair. He was an avowed atheist even at the end, and yet St. Agnes embraced him as one of their own. I thought I would share my experience with Ray. Morgan Phoenix (talk) 06:24, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
