There is an attempted distinction made between the Cinema of India and Indian Films, yet the links take to the same page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.31.106.27 (talk) 15:30, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

Bollywood - history of Muslim origin

History of bollywood should include its muslim heritage and mostly muslim oriented films being intoduced in India. It should also state hidden bias towards Hinduism and influencing of perception of Hinduism both in India and abroad. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.172.72.45 (talk)

Bollywood ie Urdu Hindi Film Industry

Bollywood is not only Hindi Language Film Industry, but also Urdu Language Film Industry. So describe as "Bollywood is the sobriquet of the Urdu-Hindi language film industry" --فیروز اردووالا (talk) 17:53, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Please change Bollywood is the sobriquet of the Hindi language film industry to Bollywood is the nickname given to the Hindi language film industry The use of such a vague word is imo unnecessary and reduces readability. Belnumcree (talk) 18:46, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

IMHO that would be "dumbing down", but as such phraseology is primarily a PoV, you need to obtain consensus. I am against it, but let us see what others think. - Arjayay (talk) 08:17, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. Feel free to continue discussion here on the talk page but I'm going to deactivate the template. My two cents is that sobriquet is bluelinked, and so people who do not understand it can very easily click on it, learn what it is, and return back to this article. I think this sort of thing is exactly why we have internal links. Cannolis (talk) 22:08, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 14 external links on Bollywood. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Influence for Bollywood section

Why not mention the influence from the Mughal period? the Mughal influence that we can see in Bollywood films from the beginning of the era, classic, modern, and today films is the love track scene as well as the use of lyrics in Urdu in most of Bollywood song.. I hope the author is aware of the influence of Mughal art in Bollywood movies

"The Mughal era, a period of Muslim rule on the subcontinent that stretched from 1526 to 1707, has had the most influence on the Indian moviemaking industry since it began in the 1930s till today. That era gives the perfect setting for Hindi mainstream cinema to infuse each frame with lavish sets, ornate costumes, picture-perfect locales, drop-dead gorgeous actors and elaborate song and dance routines." http://www.hindustantimes.com/entertainment/bollywood-s-never-ending-fascination-with-mughal-era/story-iMlldSGXhPsMcKGE06LaJJ.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.106.214.39 (talk) 13:44, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
