Nandamuri Balakrishna (Telugu:నందమూరి బాలకృష్ణ ) (b. June 10 1960), popularly known as Balakrishna, is an Indian actor in the Telugu film industry, and the son of the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, NT Rama Rao. His fans call him Balayya or NBK.

Balakrishna was born in Madras (now known as Chennai), Tamil Nadu, to Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Basava Tarakam. Balakrishna has seven brothers Swargiya Rama Krishna, Jaya Krishna, Hari Krishna, Mohana Krishna, Sai Krishna, Rama Krishna, Jaya Shankar Krishna, and four sisters Uma Maheswari, Bhuvaneswari, Lokeswari, Purandheswari. He is married to Vasundhara Devi and has one son Tarakarama Mokshagna Teja and two daughters Brahmini and Tejaswini.

Balakrishna was recently awarded the Akkineni Puraskaram.[citation needed]

  • Balakrishna made his debut with Annadammula Anubhandam in 1975.
  • NTR during his Chittoor district tour, announced Balakrishna as his political heir, although Chandra Babu Naidu is the current leader of the Telugu Desam Party.[citation needed]
