Hi! Reply-link has officially been superseded by mw:DiscussionTools, which you can install using the "Discussion tools" checkbox under Preferences → Beta features. DiscussionTools, developed by the WMF's Editing Team, is faster and has more features than reply-link, and it wouldn't make sense for me to keep developing reply-link. I think the Editing Team is doing amazing work, and look forward to what they can do in the future. Thank you for using reply-link over the years! Enterprisey (talk!) 06:11, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

Arbitration

  • A motion has standardised the 500/30 (extended confirmed) restrictions placed by the Arbitration Committee. The standardised restriction is now listed in the Arbitration Committee's procedures.
  • Following the closure of the Iranian politics case, standard discretionary sanctions are authorized for all edits about, and all pages related to, post-1978 Iranian politics, broadly construed.
  • The Arbitration Committee encourages uninvolved administrators to use the discretionary sanctions procedure in topic areas where it is authorised to facilitate consensus in RfCs. This includes, but is not limited to, enforcing sectioned comments, word/diff limits and moratoriums on a particular topic from being brought in an RfC for up to a year.

Miscellaneous

  • Editors have approved expanding the trial of Growth Features from 2% of new accounts to 25%, and the share of newcomers getting mentorship from 2% to 5%. Experienced editors are invited to add themselves to the mentor list.
  • The community consultation phase of the 2021 CheckUser and Oversight appointments process is open for editors to provide comments and ask questions to candidates.

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:40, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

block

hello, im just noticing that ive been blocked from editing wikipedia by you, for reasons i cannot properly comprehend. i only wish to make wikipedia a better place, and ive only ever made constructive edits, as can be noticed in my contribs list. it seems you've blocked me for two years; is there a good reason for this? because this is utterly disappointing. Dissoxciate (talk) 17:59, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Dissoxciate! I haven't blocked your account, but your IP may have been blocked by me. Can you try turning off any VPN software you may have on your device and seeing if the error is still displayed? Best, —Thanks for the fish! talkcontribs 18:02, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

yes, now that you've mentioned it, i decided to check my device and figured the vpn was, unfortunately, still on. a bit careless on my part, i admit. nevertheless, i turned it off, and thankfully, the block's gone. cheers! Dissoxciate (talk) 18:10, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Thank you so much Olugold (talk) 09:36, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Hello, @Olugold! I forgot to reply back to you, but all three have been granted global IP block exemption, so they should be able to edit most projects without problems. If they want to edit the English Wikipedia, however, you'll need to request a local exemption for them too. Best, —Thanks for the fish! talkcontribs 14:33, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
