Markajarvi
@Adakiko: It is obvious that TODAY'S Salla village is the one that was formerly called Markajarvi. It is situated next to Markajarvi lake and has a Markajarvi street. The source says exactly that. The article says that the Salla name and the municipality seat was relocated following the war, but doesn't say the old name of today's Salla village. See also here: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A4%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BB:Salla_Phase1.png
- Your edit to the artice: "The Salla name and the municipatity centre were transferred to the Markajarvi village.[1]" That appears to be the reverse what you stated here. Are you saying that Salla was renamed Markajarvi or the other way around? On fi:Salla it says that some homeless from Salla were relocated to Markajarvi. It states that the municipality was renamed Salla in 1938, but not that it was formally Markajarvi. trip-suggest.com is not a wp:reliable source. Neither is Wikipedia wp:CIRCULAR Adakiko (talk) 07:16, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Adakiko: The main village is what I'm talking about. In 1938 Kuolajarvi village was renamed Salla village but the Russians later took it and renamed back to Kuolajarvi. So the Finns needed a new municipality seat. They decided on Markajarvi village and renamed it Salla village (being the second village to ever bear the name "Salla village").
