Habitable Exoplanets Page

Hi there, new Wikipedia user here! Not quite sure if this is the right place to ask, but I figured I'd give it a go regardless I was checking out the Habitable exoplanet page on Wikipedia that you had started, and on that page you had listed Kepler-1632 b as a habitable exoplanet. Could you let me know what your source for that was, because I went on a bit of a hunt to find it and came up pretty empty on sources for the planet. Thanks for your help! Zestivalfestival (talk) 03:37, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Zestival Festival[reply]

Hello. Welcome to Wikipedia. Kepler-1632 b doesn't seem to be considered potentially habitable anymore according to PHL at Arecibo.

Unblock appeal

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

ExoQuest (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

My account has been banned after one of my brother's accounts, 'Astrobios': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Astrobios was mistankenly labelled as sockpuppet of 'Cygnius', and even when the Checkuser said 'I think User:Cygnius may live in a different country': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Astrobios , they banned his and my account.. We have nothing to do with that Cygnius account. ExoQuest 00:15, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=My account has been banned after one of my brother's accounts, 'Astrobios': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Astrobios was mistankenly labelled as sockpuppet of 'Cygnius', and even when the Checkuser said 'I think User:Cygnius may live in a different country': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Astrobios , they banned his and my account.. We have nothing to do with that Cygnius account. [[User:ExoQuest|ExoQuest]] 00:15, 8 September 2022 (UTC) |3 = ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=My account has been banned after one of my brother's accounts, 'Astrobios': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Astrobios was mistankenly labelled as sockpuppet of 'Cygnius', and even when the Checkuser said 'I think User:Cygnius may live in a different country': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Astrobios , they banned his and my account.. We have nothing to do with that Cygnius account. [[User:ExoQuest|ExoQuest]] 00:15, 8 September 2022 (UTC) |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:

What are you able to tell me about the account Iberastro? SQLQuery Me! 23:59, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @SQL: That's my brother's main account. Astrobios was meant to be his secondary one. I only have one. We commit to never create a new account. I also want to add that I currently live in a building where I share router with dozens of apartments, but I don't know if I share IP with them.ExoQuest 02:52, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What about this sockpuppet investigation on the Spanish Wikipedia that confirmed your account to the account Martinezespaña on June 4 of this year (as pointed out by NinjaRobotPirate on your block notice discussion below)? What details about this account can you provide? Can you give us any information or context as to what happened here? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:18, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Oshwah: That's an account I had created to edit only on the Spanish wikipedia. Here are the contributions I made with it: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:Contribuciones/Martinezespa%C3%B1a It was banned because I said I was the coordinator of a project, and they thought I was the founder. I told them that I was one of the several coordinators in that project. I actually had COI in my talkpage as long as I was involved in that project, but I removed the COI once I was not involved anymore. ExoQuest 17:38, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your email. You are correct only a checkuser can accept your appeal. I don't normally work appeals and I see both SQL and Oshwah have at least taken a look at this appeal. Perhaps one of them will being willing to action it at this point. Barkeep49 (talk) 01:39, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Would decline. It appears that ExoQuest's home wiki is the Spanish Wikipedia. I have looked over the evidence per their email request, but I suggest that our block be kept in place until ExoQuest is back in good standing on eswiki. Though they deny a COI, they aren't the sole judge of whether a COI exists. Better cooperation would go a long way. It appears that an admin on eswiki became so annoyed at their constant removal of warnings that they blocked ExoQuest from their own talk page until February, 2023. ExoQuest is still free to edit anywhere else on eswiki and has a chance to improve their reputation there. EdJohnston (talk) 14:52, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information

While it is normally acceptable for editors to blank their user talks at will, one should not remove parts of discussions that relate to an open unblock request. If you'd like to discuss the fine points, I'll be watching this page. Tiderolls 20:26, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I don't have any plans to edit on the Spanish wikipedia anymore; I have mostly always edited the English one. I have made many contributions.

My account was banned due to 1) a mistake of a checkuser thinking someone elses IP belonged to me, and he eventually admitted that IP didn't belong to me but to a sockpuppet, and 2) a ban from a different Wikipedia that I already explained to the 2 administrators that asked me about in my talkpage.ExoQuest 00:25, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
