SEA BALOON IDEA - a rain harvesting float for waterbodies
My idea is to create something to harvest rather clean rain water on a waterbody (like a lake or even the sea).
This can be used so supply boats or ships or something on showe with drinking water.
In detail this would be something like a remote controlled inflatable swimming pool but larger that can be moved around and back to shore to deliver the water for use. I imagine the circle like structure to be flexible in a sense that once it starts to fill it will contract into a kind of balloon of drinking water. That balloon has floating devices around it to keeping it from mixing with the possibly contamitate lake water or from salt water on the sea. Basically0 a ring of some kind of boie that would keep the whole structure afloat and separated from the surrounding lake or sea water. For this it needs an extra weight in the middle of the circle like structure. Basicall it would look like a submerged water balloon surrounded by lake/sea water.
Once a sufficent amount of rain is harvested one can then transfer it in one of two ways. The first way is to transport it to a ship and then use the ship to either process it or transport it to where it is needed at the shore. The secont more complicated way might be to move the new ballon structure to shore, maybe that is more doable on a small scale.
This would help to generate water by avoiding the rain to fall into salt water or a possibly unclean lake.
I know this might sound a bit far fetched but please let me know what you think. Thank you for your time!
