Welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia! Would you like a cup of coffee? :)

Hello Dambaek and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. If you truly love Wikipedia, you'll figure it all out soon enough. That said, if you still have a burning desire to grok this project

The following links might also come in handy:

Float around for awhile until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. You can write new articles, add to existing ones, or edit any and all pages that appear. There are also many great committees and groups that focus on particular jobs. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English and Wikipedia:Cleanup for sloppy articles, but they may not interest you. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy more, but Wikipedia is the most popular by far.

There are a few crucial points to keep in mind when editing. Be civil with users, strive to maintain a neutral point of view, and show good etiquette like signing your comments with four tildas like this: ~~~~

If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page or ask the true experts at Wikipedia:Help desk. Again, welcome! -- Peppery 10:39, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Birgitte Gøye

Message posted on Saturday, April 28, 2007

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Birgitte Gøye. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.kvinfo.dk/side/170/bio/985/ in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Birgitte Gøye with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Birgitte Gøye with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Birgitte Gøye saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your original contributions are welcome.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kennaway Fine Art Guild, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.kennawayfineart.co.uk/index.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 09:03, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kennaway Fine Art Guild requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Assertion of ownership of copyrighted material: How to solve the issue

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.

While we regret that your first experience here was shaped by the above warnings, please understand that Wikipedia takes copyright issues seriously and will apply a precautionary principle on all potential infringements once we are aware of these.

We took note of your assertion of ownership on Talk:Robert Crisp as well as User talk:Coren. However, since we do not verify user identities upon account creation, we have to rely on an external verification process to ensure you are indeed in a position to donate copyrighted materials.

In order to do so, please follow all the steps described at WP:DCM - this will suffice for verification purposes and clear all pending copyright issues on both Robert Crisp and the Kennaway Fine Art Guild articles.

In the meantime, the Arts guild article has been reduced to a stub status, removing all directly copy / pasted material, which should not be restored before permission has been verified, per above. On Robert Crisp, as we are also dealing with the biography of a living person, the article has been replaced by a boilerplate template which will have to stay up until, again, permission has been verified.

While this process may appear cumbersome, it is essential for the safeguarding of both the encyclopedia but also the intellectual property rights of the third party owner. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

In the meantime, please do also note that in order to have an article on Wikipedia, each topic or subject must pass additional barriers for inclusion, in particular biographies, that require the content of the article to be neutral in tone and verifiable through multiple independent third party reliable sources (the Fine Arts Guild website for instance would not qualify). All these criteria are explained in WP:FIRST, which provides a valuable insight on key gotchas and pitfalls for new article creators.

If you need any help, you can create a new section on your talk page and add {{helpme}} followed by your request below it, someone will be along shortly to assist you. Alternatively, you may also leave me a message on my talk page. Best regards, MLauba (talk) 12:33, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Robert Crisp for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Robert Crisp is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robert Crisp until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Just Chilling (talk) 01:24, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Neilcox in studio.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:03, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm only now catching up on the above talk, it's a shame when I'm an author on multiple pages/platforms that people view it as copyright infringement when I am the author.

Hi, I had to revert your addition of File:Argentina national football team logo.svg because this is not the emblem displayed on team jerseys but the official logo of the Argentine Football Association (both versions differ significantly). Fma12 (talk) 14:07, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, it will be the new official logo. It was stated on their website. If you look at the top it also shows the new Typeface. The logo shown on the adidas team jerseys at the end of the match was a one time production. Dambaek (talk) 14:13, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
