Hi, I have tried to amend the citations, in line with WP protocols; they are showing up intext but not as footnotes. I am sure its an easy fix, but i am not sure how to do it. Any help gratefully received for this newbie wikipedian. TTE678 (talk) 09:15, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the page in question? Please give a link to the page. --Cubs197 03:52, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!

For uploading pictures and other media, it's easiest to go to Wikimedia Commons (you can use your Wikipedia credentials if you're not logged in already) and visit the Upload Wizard. Wikimedia Commons can only accept files which anyone can use for any purpose. That means most content you find on the web is not acceptable. But for example, most photos that you've taken yourself are OK to upload.

Here's a screenshot of the Upload Wizard:

You start by selecting the files you want to upload, then you go step by step through the process. In the final step, you'll get some wiki markup that you can copy into a Wikipedia article. Let me know if I can help. :-)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Serge Soudoplatoff 2010.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Serge Soudoplatoff 2010.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:31, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
