non notable one-time event WuhWuzDat 15:18, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose- It has been attended by numerous public figures (see page), including parliamentarians, major activists and major scholars... as noted on the page:
“ | This conference attracted far more participants than its prequel.[3] Attendants came from 15 Un-recognized countries, and still more ethnic groups. Present were member of the British House of LordsFrank Judd, Georgian parliamentarians Nugzar Tsiklauri and David Darchiashvili, Chechen secular-national rights activist Lydia Yusupova (of the group Memorial), Israeli geopolitical scholar Moshe Gammer, French philosopher Andrei Glucksmann, Georgian Caucasiologist Merab Chukhua, French journalist Sophie Shihab, genocide scholar Stephen Bronner, representatives of the Circassian Nationalist organization Adyghe Khase, including Ruslan Keshev. Aminat Sayeva, a former diplomat of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria also attended, and was pivotal to the discussion on Chechnya. In addition, there were a handful of other Georgian parliamentarians, Western European intellectuals and university scholars, a group of Ingush activists, Chechen activists, and reporting agencies.[1] | ” |
- You could merge it with the other one, under a subtitle "sequel" or something, but I would not say it is so definitely non-notable. --Yalens (talk) 13:27, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. This doesn't seem to pass WP:Notability#Events, or at least I don't see any reason why it would. WP does not usually have articles about conferences. I've been to several conferences with "big names" participating, yet none of these are even close to being notable enough for our purposes. Nanobear (talk) 20:40, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Attendance by notable figures is not enough for notability of the event. People, including celebrities, get together and talk to each other in too many places and on many occasions. GreyHood Talk 23:33, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
