Al Awir (Arabic:العوير), or also Al Aweer, is a community of the Emirate of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Administratively it is part of the Sector 7 and is located in the north-eastern part of Dubai.
Territory
The territory of the community occupies an area of 92.1 km²[1] which develops in a non-urban area in the north- east of Dubai, bordering the Emirate of Sharjah.
The area is bounded on the northwest by Emirates Road (E 611), on the northeast by Sharja Municipality, on the east by Al Batayeh Municipality to the south by the communities of Al Wohoosh and Enkhali, and to the west by the Dubai-Hatta Road (E 44) which separates it from the community of Al Rowaiyah 3.[2]
The neighborhood is divided into two sub-communities:
- Al Awir First (community code 711, in the north area;
- Al Awir Second (community code 721), in the south area.

The southern part of the community is crossed by the Etihad Rail the first railway line of the Arab Emirates, which will connect the main centers of the Emirates with each other and with Saudi Arabia reaching Fujaira on the Gulf of Oman.[3]
The whole area is located east of Emirates Road in what, according to the 2020 Dubai Urban Masterplan, is defined as a "Non-Urban Area".[4]
The territory of Al Awir is largely desert and in the past it was occupied only by farms for agricultural production and horse and camel breeding. However, in the wake of the rise of Dubai's real estate market, this area too has begun to develop its own residential market. Furthermore, being at a certain distance from the central areas of Dubai, and in a non-urban area, rents in this area are quite advantageous. For example a 40m² studio can be found at an average annual rental price of 21,000 AED.[5]
Consistent with its non-urban role, there are no large malls or busy shopping areas in this area, giving the area a serene and tranquil feel. However, there are several schools, mosques, clinics and various public parks.[5]
Among the parks, the BarkPark is famous, a park dedicated to dogs where animals can move freely. The park also offers a series of services such as: swimming pond, day nursery, pension, grooming.[6]

In the southern area of the neighborhood, in Al Awir 2, there is part of the Al Wohoosh Desert Conservation Reserve, a protected area established in 2014. Here there are several safari camps managed by tour operators licensed that offer tourists desert life experiences.
The area is not currently served by the Dubai Metro and the nearest stop is Centrepoint (also known as Al Rashidiya), which is the last stop on the Red Line, and is about 20 km from Al Awir. However, there are public surface lines that cross it:[7]
- line 11A which connects the east with the west Al Awir and with the Centrepoint station and with that of Gold Souq of the Green Line in Deira, crossing the entire eastern part of Dubai;
- line 11B which connects east Al Awir with Centrepoint station and [[Al Khawaneej] neighborhood].
