He joined your show?Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 16:52, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, but I thought you had [Chamal] that B.E. had joined. I'm only assuming, though...
If the link I put there confused, you, it's a joke, Spittle. :D :D :D —La Pianista (TCS) 20:05, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think my game page will be deleted alot of users have that! Also have you read series of unfortunate events?--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 21:15, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately (haha), no, I have not. I watched the movie, though, but that was a long time ago.
I do read a lot, though - I've recently finished all the novels of Jane Austen (including Lady Susan, *pats self on back*). Currently reading the works of Bram Stoker - you know, Dracula and the like. :D —La Pianista (TCS) 21:18, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you read Lord of the Rings and liked it, you may want to try the Shannara series... Just don't start with The Sword of Shannara...it's long and kinda hard to read...very interesting, but long and hard to read.....try The Elfstones of Shannara first.Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 21:45, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have to read the books (on sereis of unfortunate events) it's AWESOME!! and very very sad especially starting from the 7th book!--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 21:46, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, you guys caught me. I'm a 19th-century nerd. The only modern novels I've ever read were the Harry Potter series and the Spiderwick Chronicles - I liked the latter more, though. I'm into Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy, especially. Have you read any of those authors' works? (Some of that Thomas Hardy stuff isn't fit for little ones, though.) —La Pianista (TCS) 17:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I read A Christmas Carol about 2 years ago and the beginning of A Tale of Two Cities a lonnnng time ago...don't remember why I didn't finish it, and I don't remember much about it...I just remember that I started it. :) BTW, congrats on getting to the "ultimate number"! :D —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 20:43, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but the ultimate number is bitter-sweet, since A), it means that about thirty-five people wish I was dead, and B), about thirty-five people care enough to let me know. :D :D :D —La Pianista (TCS) 22:35, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Out of curiosity, how does 42 vandalizations = 35? —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 22:44, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Some people vandalize more than once, so I brought it down to proportion. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 22:46, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

award

[edit]

Do you think I'm worthy of an award?--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 00:47, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It depends. Do you think you are worthy of an award? :) —La Pianista (TCS) 02:04, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well I was thinking of a userpage award or a newcomer award...--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 15:50, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know what awards you are talking about. But do you think you should get an award now, or do you think you need more time? —La Pianista (TCS) 17:03, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grammer

[edit]

That one with the horse can only be used when said because of the capital in Yet is needed even if in those circumstances.

mormon

[edit]

Hmm.. I guess it's ok to teahc some people about religious stuff, if there's a barnstar for it I guess it's ok... I was thinking about teaching you about the gospel, but maybe you wouldn't... Do you want to? I could teahc you something new every 2 weeks or so...--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 15:52, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also it's your choice to give me a barnstar or not, how about you give me 2 more weeks.--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 18:17, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the offer...but, no thanks. I'm a happy Methodist. BTW, I think that might be MySpacing... :)
But, if you want my honest opinion, I think you'll need a little more than two weeks. Just relax for now - you'll get a barnstar when you least expect it. ;) —La Pianista (TCS) 18:19, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was hoping for a userpage award though. So you do have a religion?--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 18:33, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I do. :)
A userpage award...hm...you might want to spend more time on your userpage...BUT NOT TOO MUCH!
Remember that the wiki has over two million articles already. You'd probably increase your chances of getting a barnstar by editing some of those.
But about userpages: have you seen my sketch of a redesign? Tell me what you think - it's okay if you don't like it. —La Pianista (TCS) 18:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
AWESOME!! Great now I'm sure I'll get a userpage award! The background is cool but can you put it on for me?--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 19:08, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! But it's still a work in progress. I'll try to see how to integrate the navbar at the top. In fact, I think I'll do it now. —La Pianista (TCS) 19:14, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Logos

[edit]

Hey Pianista, I was wondering, would you mind constructing a logo for me? This is, of course, assuming that you would be willing to and have the time to. I saw the ones you designed for Spittelspat, and that got me interested. Love to here back from you, cheers, Blooded Edge (TCA) 20:31, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All right! Would you like it to match your sig? —La Pianista (TCS) 22:40, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(e/c)Well, like my piano teacher tells me, "Always take quality over quantity." It's cliché, but it makes a lot of sense when he says it. :)
I would rather you make one good edit than a dozen mediocre ones. But that's not to say that you are editing badly - I just thought that you could divide your time better, lending more to editing in mainspace/vandal fighting/etc.
And...hey, instead of asking me to change your number, why don't you make me do it? Start editing differently, and follow the advice we give you. That way, the number change will have merit. ;D
(after e/c). BTW is iSlang for "by the way." And...btw...perhaps I should called myself - La Gnomista? —La Pianista (TCS) 23:13, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And, actually, it's Blooded Edge and me. *puts on English professor tone* The phrase "Blooded Edge and me" applies as a direct object - "You" is the subject of the sentence. Since the subject of the sentence is the one carrying out the action upon the direct object(s), the pronoun should be in the objective form. —La Pianista (TCS) 23:15, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(...doubleTRIPLE e/c, so I'm starting over. =])...Yes, you should have called yourself "Gnomista"...except that it is a contradiction! "Gnomista" is not a word...but if you are a gnome, real words should comprise your username, right? :)

No, Spittle, I don't feel it would be ethical to change your number until I've waited about a month or so to see if you've changed your editing habits. It may not be the nicest thing to do, but it's what I'm most comfortable with. :)

(e/c × 2) And your comment, Spittle, just caused me to run into another one. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 23:23, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and just saw your comment about grammar, Ed (it was lost in the conflicts): an adjective describes a noun/pronoun/noun phrase/prepositional phrase only. Adverbs are for all the rest. —La Pianista (TCS) 23:25, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In this special grammar episode of Bloody murder, the three friends start arguring! Spittlespat:Well I have better grammar than all of you it's just I have um... (e/c x 10) I think this is a compound-complex sentece is, is is this, I have 2 eyes, but the monster, who was ugly, had one eye. like that?--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 23:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

am I right?--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 23:40, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(e/c × the number of red hairs on my head) Nope, far off. A compound sentence is two sentences combined:
I do not like Ed + Ed does not like me = I do not like Ed, and Ed does not like me.
...plus a subordinate clause put in to boot:
Since he left me to die + I do not like Ed, and Ed does not like me = Since he left me to die, I do not like Ed, and Ed does not like me.
Voilá!La Pianista (TCS) 23:43, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
hey smarty pants, but is a conjuction look it up in your grammar book! So looks like I'm right, it's basically saying I have 2 eyes and the monster, who was ugly had one.
Wait...the "subordinate clause" is "I do not like Ed", right?Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 23:46, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You know, I really don't like that sentence... :) —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 23:48, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c)? (at Spittle's comment)
No, the subordinate clause is "Since he left me to die." It cannot stand by itself as a sentence because of the conjunction "Since" in front of it. Thus, it is subordinate to the rest of the sentence.
(after e/c) Oh, really? Then how about this:
Since he said I was evil, I really don't like Ed, and he really doesn't like me. :D :D :D —La Pianista (TCS) 23:50, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I went about it the wrong way to try to take out some stupid comments someone made about the fact that the page even existed was dumb.

You reverted it back automatically.....but it really shouldn't be on there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.203.100.139 (talk) 03:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, my reversion actually typifies what we do when an anonymous editor removes dubious content from any page (even a discussion page).
Perhaps you can place your opinion on the talk page if the content is unsatisfactory to you.
Cheers, and please continue contributing constructively. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 03:04, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(e.c) Good point, Ed :) BTW La Pianista, you're fast at it (reverting vandalism I mean). I saw you on the job for the first time today. Chamal talk work 03:25, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I suppose it's the ultra-high speed internet. I don't know the kbps number (or whatever it is), but it does help.
But doesn't it bug you when Huggle just freezes for a few seconds? And then you try to click and Huggle is "forced to close"? —La Pianista (TCS) 03:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My connection absolutely sucks, so there's no way I can be fast. So I'm more of a calm character when it comes to reverting. I take my time, go to each page slowly and when I spot it, Q. I get the ones that you people leave behind (there are quite a lot). Sounds kind of like the blitzkrieg huh? I rarely get that problem of huggle freezing and crashing, probably because I press 'space' at much lower rate :) Chamal talk work 03:36, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ya, taking it the calm way is probably the best. Many, many times, I whack myself with an invisible trout when I undo an anon's edit without AGF (a.k.a., using my brain)...
And then Huggle freezes before I can undo it, and I get a complaint from the IP. Bummer. —La Pianista (TCS) 03:39, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(un-indent) Hmm... that happens to me too. The most embarrassing thing is when I revert an edit that was already reverted (So I end up reverting the revert). Anyway, looks like User:J.delanoy is on the job now. Bad news for vandals, bad news for me. He never leaves anything behind, so I think I'll just get off huggle and move to some other area. Maybe MOTD or DYK now :D Chamal talk work 03:58, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think so; I've had years of experience photoshopping my cat's head onto King Kong and vice-versa... :D :D :D
But I've also dabbled in a bit of serious photo enhancement via Adobe and Microsoft Digital Image Suite Editor. What type of enhancement are we referring to? :) —La Pianista (TCS) 17:25, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, there are some images used in the article Sigiriya that needs some enhancing. Do you think you can do something? Chamal talk work 11:40, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the pics look pretty good in and of themselves. If you mean sharpening/lighting/color fixing, I'd need more ground. What would you like to be done on each individual picture? —La Pianista (TCS) 19:08, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hold on! Not yet. I have to reorganize the article and improve it a bit first. Then, after I decide which images should be kept and the others are removed (and maybe new ones added) I'll ask you again. It's some of the pics of the paintings that need some improvement. The Special Barnstar
For being so helpful in taking the time to make me a logo at short notice, I present to you the Special Barnstar. Wikipedia is lucky to have people with your qualities around :) Blooded Edge (TCA) 18:16, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, thank you very much! It really wasn't much - I have a lot of time on my hands today. :D —La Pianista (TCS) 18:17, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake, sorry. All I saw was the input of "ass," not knowing it was a literal translation.
I work at-a-glance. My sincere apologies for not having thought through my reverts. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 18:02, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bands as plurals

[edit]

Hiya, I noticed your change to Iron Maiden - just so you know, British English generally uses a plural form for a band -ie "Iron Maiden are..." rather than "Iron Maiden is...". As it's about a British band, it's written in British English. Check out WP:ENGVAR if you're wondering. Thanks. ~ mazca t|c 18:48, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. :) American English permeates my environment as being...well...American. Thanks for the heads-up. —La Pianista (TCS) 18:50, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, no worries, you certainly won't be the first or the last person to make that change with good intentions. "Iron Maiden is..." just sounds wrong to my British ears, just as I'm sure the reverse is true for an American, hehehe. ~ mazca t|c 21:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recital

[edit]

Saw your earlier edit summary. :) Noooo, I'm not a stalker or anything. Good luck at your recital tomorrow! I hope that you nail it and put the song(s) in it's/their place. :D :D :D :D Cheers! —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 02:43, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'm a bundle of nerves - up till the last minute. The wait is the hardest part... :D —La Pianista (TCS) 02:51, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You'll do fine! Don't worry about it quite so much—remember, it's only a recital, my dear. Not life or death. :) Regardless though, you have practiced it all and there is not much more you can do to prepare, right? You'll have a great preformance, I'm sure. —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 02:56, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
preformance => performance. Couldn't resist, sorry - are you off FireFox? ;D —La Pianista (TCS) 02:58, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
lol, no, I'm on it, just typing fast to try to reply and work on the Alaska-class battlecruiser article at the same time...I nominated it at WP:GAN, so I don't want it to get quick-failed or anything. :) Tanks hor da speling ix. =) —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 03:02, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Protoss

[edit]

I didn't really vanadalize Protoss's page I was actually having a discussion with him while changing it. The age on the page isn't current and he no longer attends that highschool or runs that website or that server. My edit might not have been the most constructive in some aspects but I'm reasonably sure they weren't upsetting to him or destructive to wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eno-Etile (talkcontribs) 03:23, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't answer you yesterday because I had church. Anyway the grammar episode of blooooody murder was a lol. I had never been in such a busy discussion. for halloween, Should we make a halloween special for episode 4 of blooooody murder?--Spittlespat! ǀ TCS 14:12, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, no. Bloody Murder is actually kind of bloggish - we shouldn't do that too much. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 19:11, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

I was glad to have your autograph in my guestbook. It was very sweet of you to compliment La Alquimista on helping me out. To tell you the truth,or rather,a secret, she's the one who created this page for me and gave it to me as a birthday gift. I'm only improvising and using her tips and the info she keeps giving me. Speaking of which, she'd told me all about you much before I joined Wiki. And,your compliment on my page should actually go to her. She's the one who created it from scratch. Learnt quite a lot,she has, don't you think? And,it's interesting to know we made the same mistake! ^_^ Er...how did you like my attempt at a witty comment? It would be very kind of you if you replied on my Talk page. Keep up the good work! Zebec 19:28, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:SIG#NT. You are not allowed to use template substitution to subvert Mediawiki's limit on signatures. Please create a signature that is 255 characters and enter it into the preferences area. –xeno (talk) 20:36, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oops. Sorry - I've fixed my sig now. :)
But I remember that I designed a signature for User:Spittlespat that was far over the 255-character limit. Has his been fixed? —La Pianista (TCS) 17:48, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes... Thanks. He has a much less intrusive sig now. Cheers, thanks for understanding. –xeno (talk) 17:49, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While you were practicing piano, I got some vandals that were vandalizing your userpage, don't worry I undoed their edits!--Spittlespat | ALIENS 21:41, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the revert! But, when I went through the history, I couldn't exactly see what the IP "vandalized."
But thanks anyway. You get a Wikithank for that. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 17:58, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

edits

[edit]

Am I getting better edits now?

Well, supposing that this is you, Spittlespat, I suppose you're doing better. The only suggestion I can make is to include more edit summaries - and to make them useful. For example, this edit summary doesn't tell us anything. The article is about cats, but you didn't state what you edited. Perhaps a better edit summary would have been "Added link to 'hunt'."
Otherwise, I'm very impressed with your efforts to improve! :) —La Pianista (TCS) 17:54, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!

[edit]

Sorry for replying this late. That bug called "real life" got in the way... Anyway, Zebec and me are classmates, so I just thought getting her to join Wiki might be some fun. Yeah. I totally forgot that I once made the same mistake. Heh heh... About the help Zebec's getting from me — well, let's just say that I'm following in your footsteps. Sounds a bit cliched, but cliches always have a tendency to be bang on. Ciao! La Alquimista 10:13, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I think you deserve ALL of the praise you got. I thanked La Alquimista as well, she was abashed too, and said she now knew "how La Pianista must have felt, ages ago" ^_^ BTW, I found your secret page! See the message I've posted there. And,thanks a lot for the kitten! It's my first! I'll reply on your talk page and you reply on mine,if you don't mind bending the rules for me.

THAT WAS FAST!!! I noticed you were online, and was hoping you'd reply soon! La Alquimista IS carrying on tradition, it seems to be deja vu all the time, but both you and her are really great Wikipedians, I'll say! And,if she seems more involved, it's only because we meet everyday at school, and as she says, Wiki is "addictive"! :D (learnt this smiley from you!) I do believe you've got a recital coming up. All the best! I'm sure everything will go off without a hitch. Thanks for replying on my talk page! And, Ed is NOT nasty. Are you attempting to finish the job by making me laugh to death? —La Pianista (TCS) 18:59, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly... ;) Muhahahahahahahhaha But wasn't Montresor the one that got murdered? I.e. YOU are Montresor. :D :DEd 17 for President Vote for Ed 19:05, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, Fortunato was the one who was murdered. Get your Poe straight - a lit geek is supposed to know this. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 19:08, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
-_- shoot. That's what I get for not reading it in like 3 years.... :) And who says I'm a "lit geek"? Who says I'm a "geek" PERIOD?!?!?!? =) —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 19:12, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(your battleship's dent) You define yourself as a nerd, correct? If I am not mistaken, "nerd" is synonymous with "geek." —La Pianista (TCS) 19:16, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gotcha, little miss technicalities... But even if "geek" = "nerd" , does "nerd" = "lit geek"? I dooooooubt it! :) —Ed 17 for President Vote for Ed 19:25, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
