@DarkHorseMayhem: I've closed the first, but the second still needs more time. Please just wait patiently until someone gets around to closing deletion debates instead of requesting them right after !voting. plicit 23:26, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah i just saw mb Explicit. DarkHorseMayhem (talk) 23:27, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Explicit. What's the best way to deal with File:Brazil women's national football team logo.png now that File:Brazil National Football Team (no stars).svg has been kept by Commons? This might also affect File:Brazilian Football Confederation logo.svg since the addition of the stars probably isn't enough for copyright protection in and of itself. The badge logo has been discussed multiple times at FFD and at WT:NFCC and sometimes those discussions got a bit heated. It would be great if that could be avoid this time around. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:54, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Marchjuly: Hi, since the result on Commons determined that File:Brazil National Football Team (no stars).svg does not possess the level of creativity required to warrant copyright protection, then the two non-free files can safely be re-licensed to {{PD-textlogo}} as well, citing the discussion in the edit summary for other users to refer to. The files can then be transferred to Commons. plicit 11:13, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Undeletion request

Hey! Violence against Muslims in India seems to have been incorrectly deleted under WP:G8 due to a no-redirect move to correct a typo (see this and this), meaning the subpages of the talk page (Archive 1, 2, and 3 plus a GA1) were also deleted later (by you). Coould these be undeleted? Thanks. Aidan9382 (talk) 09:56, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Aidan9382: Hi, thanks for pointing this out to me. Violence against Muslims in India was incorrectly deleted by Liz when she should have looked at both the page history of the redirect and the redirect target, but she never does any due diligence and often creates a mess. As a result, the subpages were listed at Wikipedia:Database reports/Orphaned talk subpages which led me to believe that the red-linked Violence against Muslims in India redirect at the time was deleted as G8 due to its target being deleted by another deletion process, like PROD or AFD. I have restored the subpages now. plicit 12:12, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for deletion

Thanks for deleting https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Eleanor_Williams_(criminal) - I published it before I published the main page. I hope you will provide help and advice when I publish the first draft. Thanks Londondare (talk) Londondare (talk) 21:31, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted category recreated

I noticed that the Category:National anthem compositions by key and many of its subcategories, which were proposed by User:Mangoe at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2023 June 9#Category:National anthem compositions by key and which you closed as "delete", have now been recreated by User:SpinnerLaserzthe2nd. What's to be done? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 00:35, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to find the key of anthem that is establish based on multiple sources especially government ones. If we could somehow reorganize it based on the sheet that is provided by the government. I created these categories because the patriotic songs were one of many musical genres, I had added these articles based on sources I could find. The Belarusian anthem is usually been played with the F major and the website of the government of Belarus has proved it. SpinnerLaserzthe2nd (talk) 00:42, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
a) You didn't provide any sources. b) If governments publish a score, it doesn't mean it was composed that way, nor that is always performed that way. c) The key of an anthem is not defining. But I see that you now marked those categories as speedy deletes, so the matters seems to be resolved. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 01:55, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are you telling this because you studied and had experience with music? If so, why is the key of an anthem is not defining and why it doesn't mean it was composed that way, nor that is always performed that way even if governments publish scores. I tried to look for any sources as possibly as I can. SpinnerLaserzthe2nd (talk) 02:01, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am a choral musician, and I'm telling you that the key is completely incidental. We went through this in the deletion discussion, and we shouldn't have to go over it again. Mangoe (talk) 03:55, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So, keys may vary depending on the singer or band. SpinnerLaserzthe2nd (talk) 06:04, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Uhmc logo.png

@Explicit: The help text says that I need to contact user(s) who performed the deletion of the page.

The correct licensing for this image is: PD-UA-exempt This is a logo of the Ukrainian government organisation. PD-UA-exempt (d) specifically covers this issue:

(d) State symbols of Ukraine, government awards; symbols and signs of government authorities, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations; symbols of territorial communities; symbols and signs of enterprises, institutions and organizations; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:PD-UA-exempt

Looking forward to your reply. Sinestro (talk) 08:32, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Sinestro: Thanks for clarifying the license, this information was not provided when the image was uploaded. I have restored the file and added the above license. plicit 09:15, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't noticed the missing license at first. Thank you for restoring the page. Sinestro (talk) 09:29, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Recent RFD close

Hello,

Sorry, this was my bad as I thought I voted, but it seems I didn't actually vote when I went back to check the result. (Probably one of those "half-written in a lost tab that I never clicked save") deals. Would it have mattered in Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2023_June_15#50_redirects_from_fictional_characters to your close if there had been an additional keep vote? There's no reason to delete these redirects IMO, they're harmless history. Additionally, at minimum, Lazlo En Kuldes should probably be brought back - yes, the name doesn't appear in Suikoden IV#Story, but that's because that's the psuedo-"canon" name of the hero, whose name is set by the player. It's certainly a relevant, "it's useful" redirect IMO. (The other characters I also think should be kept, but I'll admit they're a lot less important.) Pinging User:LaundryPizza03 as nominator as well. SnowFire (talk) 19:17, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@SnowFire: Hm, well there has been a recent emerging consensus at RFD which supports deleting redirects of trivial fictional characters if the targets don't mention them. Could it be possible to produce sourced mentions at the target? plicit 13:58, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Leftovers

For the salted page Aniyan Midhun, there are leftovers created by the sock, Aniyan MIdhun and Draft:Aniyan MIdhun, with an "I" that can bypass the procedures. The Doom Patrol (talk) 06:28, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@The Doom Patrol: I have deleted both in accordance with WP:CSD#G5. plicit 13:58, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Re: deletion of 2023 in AI

Hello,

You were the deleting editor for this deletion. Should 2023 in AI be restored (deletion log) as a redirect to Timeline_of_computing_2020–present#AI_software, which is in a section for 2023? Its deletion has broken the hatnote in Timeline_of_artificial_intelligence#2020s, which I noticed while browsing a broken hatnotes category. The "see also" hatnote doesn't seem to want to play ball with a target which is a section within an article, so a redirect seems to be the way to do it. The deletion discussion seemed to revolve around content, which should be resolved by the redirect to the article which seems to have a little community of editors looking after it. Philh-591 (talk) 13:31, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Philh-591: Hi, I have simply removed the red-linked hatnote. WP:XFDcloser isn't capable of handling links produced by templates, so they require manual editing. I try to remove such instances, but somehow missed this one. plicit 13:58, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll leave it to Wikipedia:WikiProject Computing editors to figure out what links they want between those pages. Philh-591 (talk) 14:23, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
