That moron...

[edit]

Hey, what do you suggest we do about that moron who keeps editing the Connecticut Sun section over and over? Nickv1025 (talk) 21:12, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Attacks

[edit]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Connecticut Sun. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Embedding personal attacks in edit summaries is particularly inappropriate. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 19:23, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I blocked the IP who was reverting Connecticut Sun for 24 hours. I nearly did not, and I did so for edit warring, since he revered the page at least 4 time in a 24 hour period. However, I do not think his edits were inherently vandalism - they seemed primarily to be adding the team name and conference name to the article. While this may be annoying, it is not necessarily vandalism. I would suggest that if he continues to attempt to make these edits after he returns from the block, that you leave a polite note on his talk page explaining why the format is the way it is. So far, I do not think this situation has been handled desirably. Some of your actions have not been appropriate, for example:

  1. You reverted 3 times within a 24 hour period. Since the edits were not obvious vandalism, this puts you on the verge of violating 3RR, and indeed you could be blocked for edit warring even now. Consider this note a warning in that regard.
  2. Some of the language being directed at the IP has been highly inappropriate - refering to users as "moron" or "retard" is not appropriate. I see a warning has already been issued above, and I concur with it. Rlendog (talk) 00:43, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not move pages to nonsensical titles. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to learn more about moving pages, please see the guidelines on this subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. CheckersCharlotte redirect

My apologies--the redirect had been created as part of a spree of pagemove vandalism. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BradRJones06 for more details. Blueboy96 21:07, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 21:29, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ford Country Squire edits

[edit]

It seems that I have accidently overwritten a few small changes that you made on the Ford Country Squire page a few hours ago. I attempted to put your changes back in but I wasn't able to do so. I apologise for my error. GTHO (talk) 10:34, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on List of weddings on the Bold and the Beauiful, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

This page is an alternate/misspelling of recently deleted (via AfD) page List of weddings on the Bold and the Beautiful

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1949–50 Waterloo Hawks season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Franklin College. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
