Request for more information

Some improvement suggestions:

  • Information in this article needs to be referenced (I've added a References & Notes section, so it is all set up to go if someone has citations to add) Done
  • A list of commanding officers would be interesting Not done
  • More information on the current structure perhaps Done
  • Also the narrative is a bit cluttered, particularly in the introduction (perhaps the information in the introduction regarding current set up could be moved down further in the article in a separate section on 'Current Structure and Commitments' Fixed

Just a few suggestions, anyway. If you are able to help, go for it! Cheers.AustralianRupert (talk) 03:53, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WWI & WWII information

This article is being used to cover the WWI & WII histories of the 25th and 49th Battalions and then the Post WWII history of 25/49 RQR. I do not believe it adequately covers the WWI and WWII areas because to do so would make the article rather large and a bit cumbersome. I am of the opinion that both 25th Battalion and 49th Battalion should have separate pages from 25/49 RQR. 25/49 RQR could then broadly touch upon the two earlier battalions, whilst the separate pages could focus more specifically on those individual battalions during WWI and WWII.

I understand that the decision to incorporate everything on this article has been made previously by people with more wikipedia experience than I, so I will not change anything yet. I'd be interested to find out what other people think about this, though. AustralianRupert (talk) 05:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved. Having talked to other contributors, it seems that the best policy is to keep the situation as is (using this page to discuss the anticedent units' history also). I will try to expand now in order to provide adequate coverage. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. — AustralianRupert (talk) 01:42, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, many years later - I've re-thought this approach and created separate articles that cover the topics in more detail. The articles are here: 25th Battalion (Australia) and 49th Battalion (Australia). Happy to discuss if others disagree. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 07:51, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I think this is the best approach. Excellent work on these articles BTW. Anotherclown (talk) 09:06, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, mas a post war 49er, I am disturbed by the incorrect information here. The RQR badge colours are wrong and the colour patch description is also wrong. It should be taken down. 27.33.242.218 (talk) 08:06, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong colours.

Wrong colour Badge, it is Silver with Royal Blue inlay. The colour patch is not black over blue, it is Navy Blue over Sky Blue. We'll start there. Btapps (talk) 02:41, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
