Merge discussion

[edit]

Agriculture of Madagascar treats the same content as this article. I propose merging it in here, because "Agriculture in ..." seems to be the standard for other articles on agriculture by country. I also propose to merge the stub Agroecology in Madagascar in here; it covers largely the same topic as the Slash-and-burn section in this article. Opinions? I finally merged the articles and did some basic clean-up. Some more restructuring and especially referencing would however be welcome. Tylototriton (talk) 10:38, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agriculture of Madagascar I am interested in this topic as a student of the history of Rice. I am most interested to learn how terracing came to be in the 16th and 17th centuries on Madagascar. There must have been a master of water management during that time that recognized the potential there for cultivation of rice. I am also interested to learn if any African masters of rice cultivation and water management were imported to Charleston, South Carolina from East or West Africa during this timeframe.--lbeben 01:24, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
