Did This Actually Happen?

[edit]

I'm thinking that this page should be put in the criteria for deletion. I can't find any other sources for this attack, and articles that list attacks committed by the group that allegedly committed this one don't mention it. Additionally, the similar attack on a Turkish consulate in Paris that occurred around the same time has much more available info. All of this makes me suspect this article may be a hoax. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GreyDynamite (talkcontribs) 04:05, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've just found sources that I don't have full access to. To start, I checked the Lyon Turkish Consulate's website and found out who was consul general in 1980: Okan Gezer. Then Google found papers on Newspapers.com with an AP article on the attack - Gunman Wounds Four At Consulate In France - LYON, France (AP), August 6, 1980. Going to add citation(s) to article.
