More info

[edit]

If any one will give more info on the populace I would be obliged.

Hawar island is one of the 33 islands on bahrain. It is also the biggest and is known for its beautiful sites and wonderful weather.
Done (there is no permanent population :) ). Bromley86 (talk) 19:47, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Jinan

[edit]

Jinan=Janan. Janan was awarded to Qatar. See [1]: 841  or [2]: 54–55 .

Merger proposal

[edit]

Proposing that Hawar be merged into Hawar Islands. The content in the Hawar article can easily be explained in the context of Hawar Islands (everything on that page is here already). There's plenty of room on the Hawar Islands page if there's anything that needs to be expanded upon; as Hawar is 80% of the size and 99% of the economic activity of the archipelago, it pretty-much is the Hawar Islands. None of the other islands have their own page, so it won't be inconsistent to deal with Hawar on this page. Bromley86 (talk) 19:54, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

>>>Bridge linking Suwad al-Janubiya to Hawar Island

[edit]

Does anybody know anything about this bridge beyond what I have found? This amounts to a curious white line on the Open Street Map project, which prompted me to look at GoogleMaps, where I found a satellite image of it.

Have a look: Bridge in Hawar Islands

It lies at 25°38'48.5"N 50°46'43.0"E.

The road running eastwards from the bridge across Suwad al-Janubiya leads to a yard full of trucks with a jetty — something military, perhaps? Whatever the deal is with this bridge, though, should surely be mentioned in this article. Annoyingly, even the Arabic article doesn't seem to mention it (although I rely on machine translation for Arabic), but there it is in satellite images. [edit]

It stated the it is located in the Persian gulf which is meant for the Arabian Gulf, Even tho all the countries call it Arabian gulf including Bahrain, except iran. 94.129.38.239 (talk) 07:58, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We use Persian Gulf here because that is the most common name in English. CMD (talk) 13:09, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
