This page is so technically incorrect it is almost silly. But very impressive attempt to make cobbled formulas and pirated images appear as scientific work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.45.190.162 (talk) 14:54, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide technical references to prove your point before you start to question the formulas and texts on the websites of US barrel builder Dan Lilja and German gun and ammunition manufacturer Lutz Möller. Mr. Möller is even more cautious in one of his texts than the formula used in the article since he uses the largest chamber diameter. Chambers are of course slightly larger than the cartridge case heads that go in them. Catastrophic failures caused by faulty design assumptions can cost German arms and ammunition manufacturers their production licenses and put them out of business, so they tend to be cautious. Remind the deflagration induced pressure equalizes in the volume it occupies. There are no pockets of significantly differing pressure in a party balloon or cartridge case.--Francis Flinch (talk) 08:17, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vector?

[edit]

Why is this considered to be a vector? If the direction is implicit in the definition (ie "rearward thrust"), doesn't that make it a scalar? Andy Dingley (talk) 17:29, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
