Liar is the pathetic 50-year-old loser who says "replaced references" in the edit summary for making this edit http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Subandhu&action=historysubmit&diff=3637465 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.168.133 (talk) 19:21, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shunyabindu dating

[edit]

Subandhu's Vasavadatta is famous among mathematical circles because it is the first known source that uses "sunyabindu" for the dot used as a zero in ancient times. Almost all the math. references I have seen date it to about 625 AD. However, Maan Singh's analysis dates it to a couple of centuries earlier. This dating turns out to be quite important in the evolution of the zero concept. So, any more information on the date would be quite useful.
