Rename to most common name?
[edit]Of the names mentioned in the lede: Gwalvanshi/गवाल वंशी अहीर or Gwals, also known as Gaur, Gaura, Gowda or Gowda Golla, the title term "Gwalvanshi" gets very, very few hits on GoogleBooks. Is one of the other terms far more common, and we should move the title to that term/spelling? MatthewVanitas (talk) 20:00, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- Is this group either the same as, or somehow linked to, Gavli? MatthewVanitas (talk) 14:47, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- The group is a subdivision of Ahirs (in North-Western provinces), looks similar to Gavli but is a different group. The term Gavli caste is specific to Maharashtra/ Central India region who also claim to be descended from the same ancestry, but are by all means different people.-- Mahensingha (Talk) "Thanx n Regards" 08:01, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Also, for google hits use the corrupt form of the term prevalent in India i.e gwalbansi. See here-- Mahensingha (Talk) "Thanx n Regards" 08:05, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Those are mostly Raj era sources, though. This article is not notable and is yet another Ahir/Yadav pov effort. - Sitush (talk) 04:06, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
