Facility still in use

[edit]

There were rumours that it was planned to shut this HVDC link down. Is this true? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.139.109.140 (talk) 14:47, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2005 VITR hearings filed that facilities were at end-of-life and the VITR 230kV project was to functionally replace it.[1] Poles 1 and 2 were de-energized in 2014. Overhead and submarine segments still in place as of 2021. Overhead segments may be re-used; submarine cables would have to be replaced.

Thyristor valves

[edit]

Should this be Thyratron? Synthetic Woolly Mammoth (talk) 18:29, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No, Thyristor is correct.
The word valves is commonly (in some parts of the world) used for thyratrons, but not for thyristors. Since I am not in that part of the world, I am not completely sure, but I think it should not say valves if it is thyristor. Gah4 (talk) 22:10, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
