I have removed "not necessarily indian born"Bharatveer 17:07, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected the information the removal of the Vice President. The Vice President is not impeached, he can be removed from office by a majority of all the members of both Houses of Parliament (Art. 67(b)) of the Constitution. Manojb 09:53, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This list is incorrect. Mr. Fakruddin Ali Ahmed was the vice president during 1969 - 74 Justice Hidayatulla was never a vice president Mr. G S Pathak was vice president during 1979 - 84

According to the official website of the Vice President of India, all three of your assertions are incorrect. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was not a Vice President, Gopal Swarup Pathak was Vice President from August 31, 1969 - August 30, 1974, and Muhammad Hidayatullah was Vice President from August 31, 1979 - August 30, 1984. idunno271828 (talk) 05:01, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rehman Khan

[edit]

Can someone provide sources which say Rehman Khan is the acting Vice President. As I see in the Parliment Website, he is the 'Deputy Charmain' and not the 'Chairman' which in turn might mean that he is the Vice President --Natrajdr 18:20, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Natrajdr, I don't believe that is correct. According to the website of the Vice President of India regarding the Election of the Vice President, item 4 on the linked web page does not imply the succession of the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha as the acting Vice President in the event of the demise or injury of the Vice President. idunno271828 (talk) 05:01, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do not merge the list with this entry

[edit]

I personally don't see a reason for the proposed merger, except for the sake of consolidation. However, many lists of heads of state are Wikipedia entries separate from the main article regarding the post the head of a particular state. I have always liked having such lists and main articles kept separate, as such lists are free from extraneous words, and am used to this convenient system. I recommend against the merge. idunno271828 (talk) 05:13, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vice-President's Salary

[edit]

How the Vice-president's salary of Rs.1,25,000/- per month is shown as equal to $ (US ?) 2,808/-, whereas the HIGHER salary of the President of India of Rs.1,50,000/- per month has been equated to US $ 2,700/- only ? This anomaly needs proper correction.--68.193.2.168 (talk) 17:52, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
