Notability

I have done a rushed (and, I know, woefully incomplete) expansion of this article because I noticed that an editor had called into question the subject's notability. I suspect that only someone unfamiliar with Los Angeles would question Broadway's worthiness for inclusion in Wikipedia. To Angelenos (and especially to that soon-to-be-majority of the Spanish surnamed), Broadway is as significant as Hollywood, Sunset or Wilshire Boulevards. I will do additional work on the article when I get the chance. In the meantime, I hope that what I have added tonight will suffice to forestall any moves toward deletion of the article. Notability Removal

It is ridiculous to suggest that L.A.'s Broadway is not noteworthy enough for an article. Whyaduck has done an excellent job of finding some of the many L.A. landmarks on Broadway, I would add the Los Angeles Theatre and Clifton's Cafeteria to that list. I'm going to remove the notice. Theatres

I'm going to try and complete some additional details on the theaters on broadway. i hope to have a couple sentences of background for each, plus a current status. I know the history of them is very interesting, some currently used as churches, etc. Minnaert (talk) 23:54, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of historic buildings in article

Keizers has made a number of recent changes to article, I currently have an opinion on two of those changes (i haven't looked at the other changes):

  1. Moving the table of contents to above the lead section. I am opposed to TOC being above lead section. (MOS:LEAD "The lead section ... of a Wikipedia article is the section before the table of contents ...")
  2. "move to mobile-friendly format" (and simplifying the section header) (3 September 2020), with the problem that (in my opinion) it makes that list look less elegant (and the division of the wikitable into West-side column and East-side column is removed) I looked at the previous version of section using Firefox on my Android cellphone and the List-of-buildings wikitable with the West-side and East-side displayed fine on my cellphone (except i do have to finger-slide right to see the East-side of the table). If I switch to Firefox Reader View, then list-of-buildings displays better on phone (ie. don't have to finger-slide right to see the East-side of the table).

(Don't know how article displays on other browsers or mobile devices). --EarthFurst (talk) 18:31, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
