Peer Review of Article PJHC

[edit]

Your expanded contribution significantly improved your article since the initial contribution. I enjoyed reading your article and I believe that any general audience should be able to understand your topic. You were able to correct all of the typos and errors in order to make your article more professional. I like that you expanded on the section involving “Initiatives Against Child Labor” and how the BRAC plays a role. It addressed concerns that I had with what children do when they are fired from their jobs because of new child labor laws. I also like the fact that it directly relates to the microfinance readings we just had in class. The only suggestions I would make for the future is adding the link to your page on other articles in order to generate more traffic and also adding pictures to make it more appealing to visual learners. Overall, great job and I look forward to your final contribution.

@Dwang41: and @Kvanschilfgaarde: I think those comments may be more appropriate on the user's talk page. -- haminoon (talk) 05:11, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article review

[edit]

This article is really well written and cited. It offers a very comprehensive perspective, especially when compared with peer pages on trafficking in other areas. The only places I would suggest expanding content are in the “other strategies” subsection (although it is sufficient as it is; there just is room to expand) and adding links from other pages to this one to increase traffic. Also, adding a few more images would really help break up the content and create a more readable flow.Kvanschilfgaarde (talk) 23:25, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article was pretty informative. What worked was bringing in the United Nations into several parts of this page because they are big about human rights and children's rights. Sometimes I read a sentence and wondered if they got the information from somewhere else, and they did because they always cited sources at the end of the statement. Being specific and talking about child labour in Bangladesh was good but also information about child labour in general was helpful too. I think needed improvements would be maybe better organizing the different information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.62.206.150 (talk) 17:50, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A majority of this article provides accurate and well-cited information. It contains direct references to laws that establish the criteria of what is child labour. Almost every sentence that makes a claim is cited, making it very reliable. Instead of adding only a citation for the statistics that explain why family demographics influence child labour, the article should also provide a chart that matches numbers to these statistics. I would also recommend providing first hand accounts from child workers that can be found in the article below.
