Doors and other Details

[edit]

I found conflicting information on the doors. Some sites state that all doors opened inward, other noted that exterior doors opened outward while interior doors opened inward. Whatever the case, the fire was horrific and the outcome was better fire safety for schools Stu I attended the second school in the late 1960's. We were taught the history of the school and told that all the doors opened inward. Thus no one could get out.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samiamh (talkcontribs) 04:52, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Source of ignition

[edit]

I simply can't believe that a fractured steam pipe could have caused this fire. The wood fuel article has a reference suggesting that the minimum ignition temperature is 300C. This would be superheated & therefore high pressure steam -not likely in a simple domestic heating application. I'm not familiar with US building regulations & comments would be appreciated. I note Comfr has made a similar point. JRPG (talk) 17:17, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
