Confusing numbering

[edit]

If Osborne Smith was acting commissioner, and French was the first commissioner, why are they listed as 1 and 2.

Shouldn't Osborne Smith and Busson be in the list of acting commissioners alongside Wood?

Queen as Commissioner-in-Chief

[edit]

The only citation given for stating that the Queen is the Commissioner-in-chief is in the Toronto Star article, which does not give any detail. However, there is nothing in the RCMP Act which refers to the Queen being Commissioner-in-Chief. From the Star article, it sounds as if HM was "bumped up" to honorary Commissioner-in-Chief to make room for Prince Charles to be named "Honorary Commissioner". Unless someone can find a more definite reference, I think it should read "Honorary Commissioner-in-chief." Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 05:24, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
