References/Sources

[edit]

I found an article in the Taleon Club Magazine, 9th Issue on Peter Demens/Pyotr Alexyevich Dementyev (in both Russian and English). While it appears to be rather thorough, I am personally unfamiliar with the magazine and whether it qualifies as a reliable source. Perhaps someone else is? ~ Chimæridæ 15:11, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another brief biography exists at the Florida Heritage Office of Cultural & Historical Programs (scroll down to find the entry on Peter A. Demens). It mentions the "coin flip" legend regarding the naming of St. Petersburg, which differs from the account in the Taleon Club Magazine article (which states, "One of [Mr. Demens'] associates submitted a petition to the Post Office Department with the name Saint Petersburg and it was approved there before the railroad was completed."). ~ Chimæridæ 15:27, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

[edit]

Back in Janurary, I tagged Petrovitch Demenscheff for a merger with this article. So far, this has been completley ignored. ----DanTD (talk) 17:59, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
